WHAT HURTS THE MOST
I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house, that don't bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I'm not afraid to cry
Every once in a while even though goin on with you gone still upsets me
There are days
Every now and again i pretend i'm okay but that's not what gets me
Athrun woke up at the sound of the raindrops on his mansion's roof. It was just about sunrise. Athrun loved rain though now it seemed more like a reminder to him of those days when he and Cagalli met at the island. It was hard for him of course. Leaving ORB like that and re-enlisting for ZAFT. It was a matter of life and death. Somehow the result was unexpected. Communication problems aroused between him and Cagalli tearing them apart and turning them in to complete strangers from different countries, nationalities and genetic raises. It was sad or rather depressing that even Athrun himself cried at times though he knows life has to go on. It was hard to keep inside him. It was hard to move on but what makes him depressed and burdened was the fact that all he wanted to do was prove something. Something that he failed to show to his beloved Cagalli.
What hurts the most, was being so close
And having so much to say
And watchin you walk away
Never knowing, what could have been
And not seein that lovin you
Is what i was tryin to do
Loving her. Yes that was it. Loving Cagalli was what he intended to do from the moment they got together. But then again destiny is cruel and destroyed everything. After the "beach confrontation" he knew in his heart that there was something wrong. Seeing Cagalli leaving worried and upset makes him bothered. The next time they met she apologized but he was too perplexed to answer or rather arrogant. Sadly that was the end. End of their relationship and end of their love. She removed the ring and he let her go. Not knowing what could've happened if only he accepted an apology that was even unnecessary in the first place. Once again he saw her leaving the place and his life.
It's hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere i go
But i'm doin it
It's hard to force that smile when i see our old friends and i'm alone
Still harder gettin up, gettin dressed, livin with this regret
But i know if i could do it over
I would trade, give away all the words that i saved in my heart that i left unspoken
The month after all the chaos Athrun, Kira and Lacus even Cagalli were back to their normal lives. Doing work, making money and simply going on with their regular routine. Kira with Lacus and him with himself. It sure is heart breaking to see everything turn out this way. Sadly it has to because he never said a thing to stop the break up. But maybe, just maybe the words like 'I Love You' might change the scenario. And hopefully there's still time for that because it's true. Athrun still love Cagalli. And no other girl can substitute for Cagalli.

I'm so happy to be able to write a fic where in Athrun is the one who's bitter because most fics make Cagalli bitter. Come on… Athrun was the one who invited the bitch…. A.k.a. Meyrin… in the arc angel. (no offense to ASUMEY people but I have to stand by my opinion!!!)
