Disclaimer: I do not own McFly, unfortunately, I'm only borrowing them temporarily.

A/N: My Australian Language Acquisition tutor made us write a short story, and I couldn't help but write one about McFly. I got an A for it! Reviews are highly appreciated, good or bad.

Remember Me Always

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

The first thing I hear when I regain consciousness is this constant beeping tone. Please, somebody stop it already! It's driving me nuts. My prayers are heard and I can hear the sound of running, footsteps coming closer and closer till they come to a stop, right next to me. The noise is nearly deafening, my ears start to ring and I can feel the blood fighting its way through the veins.

This is the first time I pay attention to my body since I woke up. I feel as though I've been through a grinder, repeatedly. I'm aching all over, my limbs feel heavy and my eyes simply refuse to open; it's pure agony. I'm trying to concentrate on something other than the pain.

The beeping is still there, only now it's paired with a scraping of metal over metal and the yells of "Clear", followed by a loud thud. The overwhelming smell of cleanser and rubber is intruding my nose, almost choking the air out of me. I concentrate on what I feel besides the pain; rough sheets and tubes. I follow the tubes with my left hand, tracing my fingers over the punctured skin as it disappears into my right hand.

The beeping has finally stopped; the room is plunged into silence once again. I abandon my quest and just lay still in the bed. I can't remember anything, not a single thing up until Danny suggested to go surfing at Coolangatta. Claiming it was the place for surfers to be. So, I decided to go along, it was his vacation as well. The first real vacation we had together after everything started. Oh my God! Danny, where is he? Is he all right? Please let my lover be fine, it would kill me if something happened to him. Something is nagging at the back of my mind; I just can't seem to grasp it. A sudden feeling of dread fills me, my body turns cold and my heart shatters into a million pieces. I remember everything now. Flashes of the damn shark attacking us, Danny and I in an ambulance, us being rushed to a room and nurses prodding me, are shown to my minds-eye. And then I remember that beeping sound.

Realization floods my eyes with white, hot tears, and tightens my chest. I've lost the love of my life. I've lost everything. Without Danny, what do I have to life for? All will to fight leaves my body at once.

A second beeeeeeeeeeeep can be heard from the room. Doctors and nurses are trying to resuscitate the young boy, but to no avail. Both boys died that night, one from physical injuries, and the other from a broken heart. Their love for each other strong enough to transcends unto the next level. Where Dougie and Danny never again would be separated.
