So this is my first fic so please don't be too harsh! It's surprising how hard writing actually is! I'll probably have the next and final chapter up on Sunday so yup! Reviews would be helpful, thanks! bye :)

"Wait a minute, you're telling me you have never climbed a tree?" Clara couldn't believe that "Mr Been There and Done That" had never actually felt the adrenaline rush of simply climbing a tree.

"Nope, never ever." The Doctor replied flicking a brightly lit switch on the TARDIS console and not really paying much attention to the conversation.

"But climbing a tree is like one of the first things you do as a kid, pushing past each branch and feeling the butterflies as you get higher and higher until you reach the top and you can see for miles, feel the warm sun on your cheeks and hear the birds chirping away in the leaves." Clara smiled fondly as she remembered how she used to climb as high as she could, hoping to one day touch the puffy clouds above never imagining that one day she would walk amongst them.

The Doctor flipped another switch, causing the TARDIS to grumble, "Well climbing silly trees might be traditional for an Earthling like yourself" the Doctor gave Clara a bop on the nose, "but Time Lords don't have time for dangerous activities such as climbing heights!" he swivelled round back to the console to avoid more conversation on the matter.

Clara chuckled "have you actually heard yourself? You have a time machine and you're a Time Lord and you're telling me you don't have time to climb a tree. If I didn't know any better Doctor, I'd say you're scared." Clara smiled knowingly.

The Doctor quickly twirled back round to face Clara, "ha- wh- no not me, I'm not scared of anything Clara! I'm the Predator! The Oncoming Storm! The Doctor! I'm not afraid of anything. Nope. Nothing" the Doctor replied, trying to sound astonished and heroic.

"Oh my god you are scared I knew it!" Clara chuckled.

"No I'm not! I'm just... cautious..." The Doctor was now irritated at his lack of confidence all of a sudden and frowned at his petite companion that was now laughing at him.

"YOU? Cautious? Doctor you do remember the time you threw yourself into your own time stream just to get little old me out, right? And you're scared of a pesky tree!" Clara's tone was mocking but thinking about Trenzalore made her feel guilty for poking fun.

The Doctor fumbled for a minute before he finally asked the question that would determine his fate, "dare me?".

Clara's attitude quickly changed, turning mischievous and giddy, "I dare you."
