I'm gonna start by saying that Roy Harper (Speedy I/Arsenal/Red Arrow) is one of my favourite comic-book characters of all time. I love all adaptations of him, and though the whole clone thing in Young Justice at first seemed a ridiculous notion, I found it to be an amazing storyline. Also, it made me fall in love with Roy all over again. I've always been fascinated by Roy's relationship with Jade/Cheshire, and I've often wondered how it would come about and how they would interact with one another, especially during the limbo period of being enemies but struggling with attraction for each other. I thought this song was perfect for that, so this was born.
Song: Bloodstream by Stateless.
(I do not own, nor have I ever owned anything quoted/reference within my works. That's why it's fanfiction. However, I will say that if I've included it, I highly recommend it. Go support those who came up with such fantastic works in the first place, so that they can continue to inspire me.)
Words can be like knives;
They can cut you open.
Then silence surrounds you,
And haunts you.
The air was thick and she was intoxicating, her lithe frame weaved an intricate dance as she taunted him. She dodged his arrows so easily that there were times in which she wondered if he was really trying at all. The tension between them was charged and unforgiving, the sexual allure only heightened by the precarious nature of their dangerous situation. This was no chance meeting. They each were both the hunter and the hunted. She was the biggest temptress as her eyes seared into his own, her painted lips stretched into an agonizingly lustful smirk.
His breath caught and his jaw clenched as his hands trembled the barest hint, his bow string momentarily going ever-so-slightly slack. He recovered before she could see the effect she could have on him, the arrow aimed right at her chest. She no longer donned her mask, at least not when confronting the archer. Her dark eyes sparked alive as she too became affected by the sternness of his gaze. His arms rippled with strength as he held them up and he had but to drop his elbow for her life to cease. She clamped her pouting bottom lip between her teeth and stared unwaveringly at him, until she was positive the arrow had moved without his knowledge, and she chuckled with sly satisfaction.
She was not immune to his charms, not at all. The way his one cheek lifted and gave birth to a dimple as he gave her his cocky-half smile made her want to do the kind of bad things that wouldn't be breaking the law. The few times she'd had him pinned she'd had to tear herself away after giving him the shortest of kisses, but fiery they were. This time ended no differently. It was poisonous and lustful and passionate, and over entirely too quickly. But before he could raise his bow, she'd been gone, again.
Flirting with the enemy had never been more fun, or more scandalous.
I think I might've inhaled you.
I can feel you behind my eyes.
You've gotten into my blood stream.
I can feel you flowing in me.
{Roy, I'm so sorry, baby. You deserved so much better than this for your debut within my writing. Ugh, what even is thissss?!}
