Nothing could separate me and James, except some consequence of my mate's 'sixth tense'.

Yes, he wanted to hunt the girl alone and have some fun. I knew he wasn't prepared. There were seven of them and he was alone, without anyone who would defend him. But he requested that. Maybe that was only some joke, but I didn't feel as joking.

'...it's time. Destiny has spoken.' He smirked and faded away to hunt the girl, leaving me unforgettable soft kiss on my cold lips. I still remember his mean eyes and lethal smile as he would get what he wanted. I hoped...that he would get what he wants again.

Laurent betrayed us and told the Cullen family about his special ability. I don't blame him as I blame myself for letting him go alone, but he ordered me that...and his eyes lately were saying that death is near. That end is required.

While I was looking at the stars in deep night, Laurent's voice coldly said to me 'I am really sorry for your lost, Victoria.' I didn't reply to him at the moment. I just continued looking at the stars and heard Laurent's sight. After few minutes, he losed hope and left me alone.

My red curls were blowing in the wind as I heard whispers from the past.

'I love you. I need you, Victoria.' His voice sounded so strange cold when he was saying my name. I felt the wind that was carrying the message from my love. He was talking to me, saying that he will wait for me for the whole eternity. I gasped into dry air and whispered 'Why?'

The night, wind, stars...answered me 'Because I love you.' I heard his whisper again.

I finally knew that we couldn't handle the whole eternity. He needed to rest and find his own peace, without me or not. But he was still loving me, wherever he was. He was still whispering my name, no matter how he was quiet.

I wasn't sad. I just smirked and walked away. He would smile to me back to if he was there...and he was. He walked away with me. I felt that coldness and remembered all those happy moments we had.

'Maybe it's my time, too.' After few days I told to myself while I was looking myself in the mirror. I could swore that I saw James' reflection in mirror, too. Smiling to him, he smiled back and faded away. I tracked the human, it was mate-for-mate thing, but I wasn't planning to kill her, well maybe by accident. Her mate, Edward told me that James kept me around only because of my ability to escape. But I knew, that it wasn't the truth. I laughed as James' soul laughed in shadows.

I didn't kill her.

I didn't avenge my love.

I lost.

But that wasn't my end. He waited for me as he promised.

We had the whole eternity for our passion...and peace.
