Smoke and Mirrors OR Ten Shinigami who aren't what they seem

Kenpachi isn't as tough as everyone thinks. The proof? He has the self-absorbed pretty boy Yumichika for his 5th seat, a small child with bubblegum pink hair riding around on his back and he ties bells in his hair. Seems like he has a soft side to me!
Unohana wasn't always so calm and nice, she once had a temper to match Kurotsuchi Mayuri but she soon found the connection between her anger and the rising number of patients in fourth division. For her divisions sake, she stopped defending the 4th division's name when in the 11th division
Ise Nanao doesn't hate her captain that much. She just isn't that merciful when he complains about his hangover, the hangover he generated by drinking while he was on duty. The hangover he had said they would go through together until she had walked out on him. The hangover she was partly responsible for when she had yelled over her shoulder "Fine! Drink to yourself to death! See if I care!" The hangover she was going to spend the next five hours tending to with the greatest of affection.
Yamada Hantarou isn't timid. He had just pulled eight marathon shifts before he got caught up in that mess with Kuchiki and all the captains. He usually goes out to a bar on Saturday night. He even got into a brawl once. He had started it but it ended with him getting shoved in a barrel and mailed to west Rukongai. After that, stopped drinking for a while.
Kuchiki Byakuya isn't so emotionless. After all, a man who defied his parents and married a peasant girl has to have some character. Maintaining his mask of aloofness is a daily challenge with Abarai Renji as a fukutaicho. That man's hair and tattoos would make anyone laugh.
Hitsugaya doesn't mind being thought of as a kid. It just means that the culprit will be more surprised when he finds Hyorinmaru driven into his chest.
Aizen isn't really that evil he's just… well no he is evil.
Komamura isn't ashamed of his appearance. He started wearing the mask after he got sick of women at the academy getting cutesy with him. He did like being scratched behind the ears though.
Ukitake isn't old. Your hair would turn white too if you had to cover for Shunsui. Not that he minds.
Kurotsuchi Mayuri used to be a real romantic. Now he pulls at your heartstrings in a more literal sense.
