Kiku had been crushing on him for quite some time and so the moment that Alfred asked him out, his heart raced so fast that he could feel it popping out of his chest. The feeling was so hard to deal with that he ha almost said 'no' on accident. He ended up nodded and blushing as Alfred gave him a time and place, then went back to work.
With the date happening in a matter of an hour, he quickly prepared himself. He wanted to wow Alfred with his looks despite often wanting to be left alone… All the Japanese man was looking for was Alfred's attention. He carefully selected his clothing and shoes and everything he could possibly have control over. With about fifteen minuets to spare, he rushed to get a taxi and typed the address in to track their time. He was going to be a little late. He texted Alfred that he was running late as the taxi zoomed towards his destination. When he got there, he was a little disappointed as to where they were meeting. It was this small shopping district with very little people anywhere. Most of the shops were closed down and the few that were open sold antiques and travel maps. The entire place was a little creepy. Just staring at it gave Kiku shivers.
He stood in front of a gas station, their meeting spot, and waited. The lady inside gave him a weird look as she watched him stand there. Waiting for his date. Apparently Alfred was running late as well.
Kiku sat down on a rusty bench that had so much gum on the underside that a cat could get stuck down there. From where he sat he could see an old church across the street that was slightly tilted like it was beginning to sit down on the ground. Wood had began to splinter all over the church, some places missing enough of the wall to see that it was just as ruined on the inside. The bell was cracked and resting near the entrance. The bronze of the bell was old and faded; many teenagers had drawn and written on it, degrading it further in the process.
Kiku pulled out his phone and checked the time. It was awfully late and Alfred still hadn't arrived. He shot him a text, asking him where he was, and by the time the screen was bright enough to illuminate his face, the sun was setting.
By eight pm, he had sent four more texts; by nine, he stood up and called a cab. He wouldn't wait any longer for him. After five hours of waiting, he realized that he had been stood up.
When his cab came, he rode it straight home.
As soon as he got inside: he collapsed on the couch, sobbing. He had gotten stood up by the man he had fallen for.
The tears just kept rolling down his cheeks, making droplets on the pillow that he was squeezing the life out of. There was no other time in his life that he had ever felt so betrayed… So utterly rejected. Why had he done that?! Why couldn't Alfred just tell him flat out that he didn't want to be with him? At least that way he wouldn't feel such betrayal…
It wasn't long before that depressing state turned to one or anger. Why? He normally had such a calm and cool demeanor. But something in him snapped and for once in his life, he obtained true anger. Why had this little instance have to ruin his day like this? He had dressed up so nicely for him, only to be left to sit in a dump for five hours waiting for him. He wasn't just angry any more, he was vengeful.
And he needed that revenge.
