Rangiku is a virgin. Their years together do not mean she has slept with Gin in that way. She has slept with him, yes – under the same covers, in the same bed, in the same room. They have tangled legs and fingers and bodies under sheets, not with lust but something more primal – the urge to be warm in the dark; shield from the freezing wind.
Gin's hands are always cold when he curls them around her waist, cool lips against her collarbone, as he pulls her close.
She is always warm, but she worries that he will never be.
