Suggesting Incompetence
She didn't like how Shauna was never more than five feet away from her. She didn't like how she kept on running into Tierno and Trevor. She didn't like how Calem was waiting at the end of the path with supplies, as though she wasn't capable of stocking up on her own.
And she'd hated how he'd caught her in the Avance trail to show her how to catch a Pokemon. As if she didn't already know!
Just because his parents were well seasoned Pokemon trainers…
She could bet they couldn't handle a Rhyhorn as well as her mother. And besides, who cared about that? They were on this journey without them, taking only what they'd learnt over the years and what they picked up along the way. Did they think she wasn't as capable as them? Did they think she couldn't handle herself in this wilderness?
She'd already beaten Shauna once. And every trainer they crossed paths with while Shauna hung back. Yes, it was nice not having to worry that her Pokemon would run out of health or attacks to use but she could have managed without that. And she'd much rather have managed without that, considering how the price was being babied like someone incompetent.
She wasn't incompetent. And, sooner or later, she would prove it.
