Prompt: Could you write one about Korra & Bolin arm wrestling? That would be funny. Then Mako coming in and reprimanding them since they're supposed to be practicing so now we have everyone arguing while Korra and Bolin are in the middle of their match. (from tumblr)

Two disks shot at the net across the training room, one ripping all the way through it. "You may be the Avatar," Bolin said, wiping some sweat from his brow, "but I'm the better Earthbender."

Korra, having witnessed his show of strength of bending, raised an uncertain eyebrow at him. "You may be the better Earthbender," she said, a tone of challenge heavy on her voice, "but I bet I'm stronger."

"Nuh-uh," said the Earthbender, his argument strong and clearly well-thought-through.

"Yeah-huh!" Korra responded, mocking.

"Well, prove it!" Bolin pulled a table away from the wall, and stood at end of it, holding his arm in an obvious arm wrestling position. Korra eyed it suspiciously.

"What's the bet?" she asked from her safe distance.

Bolin thought about that for a second. "Whoever loses has to clean up the training room after our next practice—water puddles, dirt crumbs, scorch marks, and all."

Korra grinned. "Deal!" she said, then ran forward and grabbed Bolin by the arm. "GO!" they shouted in unison, and the match began.

It wouldn't be fair to say it was an easy match; many times Bolin seemed he was about to win, and many times Korra seemed she was about to win.

It was rather untimely that Mako returned just at that moment. "What are you doing?" he demanded, and both the arm wrestlers turned to face him.

"S-settling a… bet?" Bolin answered, uncertainly. Korra realized his attention was separated, and slammed his hand down on the table.

"You lose!" She exclaimed, proudly.

"Weren't you two supposed to be practicing?" Mako said, ignoring the Avatar, who looked up, then, obviously less proud of her achievement.

"We were, then Bolin said he was a better Earthbender—"

"He is a better Earthbender."

Korra sighed. "And I said that I was stronger, which Bolin disagreed with, so we made a bet."

Mako raised an eyebrow. "What was the bet?"

"Whoever lost had to clean the training room after the next practice." Mako nodded slowly, then casually walked over to Bolin, pushed him aside, and placed his elbow on the table.

"Well, come on, Avatar. Let's see. If I lose, I'll clean the training room for a week. If you lose, you both will."

Korra agreed, figuring that Bolin was the stronger of the brothers, but Mako winked at her. Korra wasn't sure—had she really just seen that? Why would he wink at her? Something was off. He was planning something. She faintly heard Bolin cry, "GO!"

The feeling of the back of her hand slamming against the table brought her back to the real world.

"Now get back to training," Mako said coolly, walking away from his victory, hands in his pockets.
