The room was silent. No one was left in the room except for the puppet master and the origami angel. The silence was so thick; it could've been sliced with a knife. The two sat at the long meeting table, across from one another. The others had gone off to train. The female's eyes squinted all of a sudden. She lifted her arms up onto the table so she could lean on her hands. Sasori met the woman's glare with one of his own. Konan's monotonous voice filled the dark meeting room.
"You know what I just realized….?" she inquired.
Sasori continued to give her his glare, clearly not interested in whatever she had to say. He let loose a small groan, telling her to continue. Konan leaned back in her chair, her squinty eyes never leaving the man across from her. Her lips parted.
"You…."
Sasori's eyes - ever so slightly - widened at the sound of the hidden hostility in her voice. Never giving up his straight face, he began to listen closely to her. Konan blasted out of her seat, slamming her hands on the table.
"YOU DON'T HAVE TO EXERCIZE!"
Sasori was appalled. Was she seriously getting this angry over that? He chuckled at the scene; how absurd it all was. Konan on the other hand, was growling and turning red at the sound of the puppet's laughter. She huffed, and sat back down in her chair.
"It's not FAIR! Do you know how hard I have to work to keep my body looking like this?" Konan gestured toward her body. "It's not easy!"
Sasori sat back in his own chair, a smirk on his face. He was debating over whether he should say a snide comment or not. Finally, he decided against it; Pain would surely kill him…
So instead, Sasori laughed.
