"Hey Lulu!"
Lelouch turns to see Suzaku, Shirley, and Rivalz hurrying to catch up with him.
"Geez Lelouch, how do always manage to be the first out of history class? You're right in the middle of everyone!" said Rivalz, running down the hallway and almost knocking down more than one person.
Lelouch laughed lightly, "You know how I feel about history."
Shirley huffed as she caught up, "Yeah, we know. How are you even passing in that class? You either skip or fall asleep every other day."
"Yes Lulu, how do you do it?" the final member of the group had finally caught up and, with a smirk, gave his daily jab at Lelouch's nickname. Since Suzaku and Lelouch had known each other since they were little, teasing and playing came easily them and the focus of that for Sukaku was his friend's moniker 'Lulu'.
When Suzaku had first come to Ashford Academy he heard Lelouch's nickname pretty early on in the day but had been sure that he had misheard, honestly, how could Lelouch vi Britania, eleventh prince of Britania, and seventeenth in line for the throne be called Lulu? But he heard it again later in the day and the same thing the next day and the day after that. Eventually he had to accept that his old no nonsense friend was really called 'Lulu'. And he had yet to let him forget it.
Suzaku inwardly laughed at the slight twitch of Lelouch's eye, he greatly enjoyed having his friend back and being able to fool around like this.
The thing he should have remembered was that one of Lelouch's favorite pastimes was plotting revenge.
When Suzaku entered the clubhouse later that day he was given a smattering of greetings by the assembled student council members, not all of which were there yet, but the one that stuck out was Lelouch's salutation, "Hello, Suzy."
Everyone in the room turned to look at Lelouch, shocked into silence, but Lelouch did not look embarrassed or uneasy, in fact he looked like the picture of innocence. Suzaku was doomed.
Lelouch smiled sweetly, or deviously depending on how you saw it, "Suzaku is a bit of a mouthful and since he is our friend now, and a member of the club, I thought it might be nice if he had a nickname, something shorter and easier to remember than 'Suzaku'."
Everyone was quiet for a moment but the desired effect had been achieved since the first to speak was Milly and her words were, "That's a great idea!"
She continued enthusiastically, "What better way to show that Suzaku really is one of us than with a nickname? Plus Suzy is perfect! Now we'll have the two best friends Suzy and Lulu, do you realize what we can do with this?!"
Milly continued with her exuberant display and Suzaku watched as his next few years of school were redirected, by Milly, down a path he never thought they would take. He glanced over at Lelouch and saw the amused smile he always wore when he had outwitted an opponent and they had just realized it. Kind of like Suzaku just realized that maybe he shouldn't have teased him so much about being called Lulu…
