"Hiccup? Come on, Hiccup, Up!" Hiccup groaned as he heard his mother's voice cut through his sleep. He rubbed his face into his pillow to rid himself of anymore sleepiness, when it really didn't help much, and trudged out of bed.
Valka smiled at him before heading back down the stairs calling "Breakfast is ready, and Astrid is waiting. Hurry!"
He grinned and looked over to Toothless, but the dragon just growled at him. Hiccup frowned "You alright bud?" Hiccup asked, utterly confused. He stood and went over to the dragon, but Toothless just growled louder. "Mom!" Hiccup called. "Something's wrong with Toothless!"
Valka hurried up the stairs and looked at Toothless, confused as well. 'Well, I don't know why'd he'd be growling at you, Hiccup." She said, in a bewildered voice. "Come on, Toothless. I've got a basket of fish for you." She said.
Toothless hesitantly stood from his bed, and made the distance between him and Hiccup as far as he could get it in the little room, growling the entire time. Hiccup just stood dumbfounded. "Bud, what's wrong?" he asked. His voice was hurt. Scared.
Toothless stopped growling for a moment. His eyes almost giving this look of 'Did I make a mistake?' before setting back into the 'I hate you' look.
Finally they went back down the stairs leaving Hiccup confused, and hurt.
