The way he laughed made Lilah smile. The way he snored made her laugh. The way the corners of his eyes wrinkled a little when he had a genuine smile on his face made her swell with pride because it was her doing that to him. It wasn't his old flame making moan in pleasure or beg for release, it was Lilah doing it. She always did have a knack for making men fall to their knees whether it be from pleasure or pain.

Wesley didn't love Lilah; he knew he could never love her either because his heart ached for another. His heart wept for Fred in all her awkwardness because she was like him when he first started with Angel. But back then he was friends with Angel, now he was his worst enemy. Anyway Wesley knew how much of a bitch unrequited love was, yet he still played Lilah for a fool. He made he believe something could happen between the two and he used her. Wesley made her a pawn in his game of lies.

Lilah always believed she could tell truth from lies, but for once in her life she was blinded by love, love for a liar. If he just proclaimed his love for her and meant it or pretended to mean it she would have given him the information on Angel, hell she would have sung it for him, but no he couldn't do that for her. It wasn't as if she asked a lot of him, she just wanted three simple words. Even if he didn't mean them, in her head he would have meant them.

She knew she wasn't Fred and couldn't take her place, but Lilah was never known for being a quitter. She gave it her damndest and tried her hardest to make Wesley love her but it wasn't enough in the end. She wasn't good enough. She wasn't pretty enough. She wasn't smart enough. She wasn't anything to him but a good fuck and an information well. Lilah didn't give him all that he wanted though; she refused to reveal all the information she had to him. Wesley didn't even deserve what she gave him.

In the end though karma is a bitch and everyone gets what they deserve. Lilah didn't die the most peaceful death but at least she didn't have the weight of guilt and remorse on her conscience like Wesley did.
