My answer to a question posted in a forum.
This was it. The last step to becoming Pirate King.
Luffy's eyes hardened in a stern gaze, watching the man standing in shadow before him.
You must choose. A menacing voice growled. Which one will it be? Your nakama? Or King of the Pirates?
The black haired boy held his straw hat so that it shielded his eyes from view. I can't become Pirate King unless I give up my nakama?
Yes. You must choose. The voice boomed loud in his ears, echoing in the depths of his mind. Your nakama? Or your dream?
The boy's eyes still hid under the brim of his straw hat. And I can't have my nakama unless I give up on being Pirate King?
Yes. You must choose. The voice bellowed again, bearing down upon the rubber human.
Luffy smirked and looked up from under his straw hat with eyes full of determination.
"Stupid." He stood straight up and stared confidently at the shadowy man in front of him. "Who says I only have two choices?" The black haired boy cracked his knuckles and grinned.
"I'm taking both."

AN: This is what a drabble is, right? My first one, too! Hee. Oh, and I'm taking this chance to ask if someone would like to beta-read one of my stories I'm still writing? It's a chapter story for Zoro and Luffy. Although there's also Sanji and Nami plus Vivi and Kohza. And a little Usopp Kaya. I would like it if I could get another view on the story... Thanks!
