I was running down the street. There was no sign of people because of the rain pouring cats and dogs. My clothes were completely drenched in rain water. My strawberry blonde hair sticking my back uncomfortably and soaked completely. I looked over for some shelter and found a coffee shop which was for God's sake still open at that hour. I looked around and entered. There for the very first time, I saw you.

Our eyes met. And we were staring each other for an awkwardly long moment until you broke the contact and looked sideways. Your gaze on me felt different from any other till now I have felt. You were not ogling my body but you were actually peeking into my soul. There was no sign of lust but immaculate anticipation.

I took a seat near the window. You were already seated at the center and sipping cappuccino from your cup. My eyes dotted on you. You were reading a novel and trying to flip the page with your right hand while holding the cup with your left hand. Your eyes narrowed on the book.

Long blonde hair braided into a single pigtail, alabaster skin, mysterious deep sapphire eyes, red lips and cheeks with a rosy hue, you were a vision to withhold. I realized I was staring so quickly averted my gaze. Then the culprit escaped. I sneezed loudly.

Although I was looking anywhere but you, I could sense that your gaze was on me now. I slightly shivered feeling the cold wind numb my body and cursed myself umpteenth time for not bringing an umbrella along with me.

My teeth started chattering. I tried to stop the noise from escaping but my forcefulness didn't work on the involuntary action from happening.

I wrapped my arms around me so that the leftover heat won't escape from my body.

Suddenly I felt something warm over my body and a soft voice whispering,

"You're shivering. Here please have my coat."

I turned to see the same sapphire gaze. You had put your coat over me and smiled innocently.

"No, I can't. I will destroy your coat. I am completely drenched." I tried to push your coat away from my body although it felt warm and cozy.

You put both your hands on my shoulders and didn't let me budge from my place and said,

"I insist. And doesn't matter it gets a little wet, I do have a lot of them back at my place."

"Okay. If you say so." I whispered.

You smiled again and asked my name. I responded. Then I asked yours. And you answered me.

"What a beautiful name." you said.

I looked over to see a dreamy expression on your face.

"What?" I asked still feeling a little nerved up from your earlier statement.

Your expression became that of a startled one. It was like a deer caught in headlights.

I smiled inwardly at your flushing expression.

"Did I say that out loud?" you asked.

"Yes." I replied.

"Oh" you averted your gaze on the floor. The blush still clear on your face.

"So cute." I thought.

"What?" you queried.

Now I snapped back from my realm of dreams and felt my cheeks burn up furiously.

"Did I say that loudly?" I asked.

"Yes. Good to know that I'm not the only one thinking out loud. Lol." You laughed oh so sweetly.

"Ya. I guess." I gave an awkward laugh in this situation.

The rain still continued that day. Work still went on that year. Life still moved on. But something changed. That day I met you. I met my true love. And now that time has passed so quickly, I can proudly say that I am so happy to have you in my life. As my lover, partner, friend and wife.
