AN: This is my first time writing a songfic, but I think it came out good. The song is "I'd Rather Be In Love" by Michelle Branch. I suppose this is post-New Moon. Constructive criticism is always welcomed. Hope you enjoy it! Please review!

Bella laid on her bed, listening to her heart beat, knowing Edward would be listening to it too. She rolled to her side and opened her eyes. Of course. Edward was there. Bella smiled, but before she could see Edward smiling back at her, she closed her eyes again.

And there's no better feeling in the world

And I'd rather be in love with you

Bella tried to forget the past, when Edward left her. It was stupid to think he didn't actually love her. It was stupid to think that they could live apart. Sometimes she would remember Jacob and would feel guilty. Guilty that he fell in love with her when she did not love him. She will always love Edward and no one else.

Turn out the lights now

It's the least that I could do

Those months when Edward disappeared were horrible. Bella knew that if that happened again, she wouldn't be able to live on. Bella shivered at all the days that she cried herself to sleep.

And I'd rather be in love with you

She couldn't wait until she would be transformed into a vampire. The thought excited her. She could finally be with Edward for eternity. She will no longer have to fear Edward outliving her and having him be alone in the world. Bella wished Edward could feel the same way about her becoming a vampire, but then again, love does strange things to those that are under its spell.

Edward wrapped his cold arms around her. She would never dream of loving a vampire, it seems so surreal, but there she was, in the arms of a vampire and loving every second of it. She couldn't think of a world without Edward. Ironically, he was dead but yet he was her life.

Bella snuggled closer to Edward, afraid that he would leave. Knowing that a world without his love, is a world not worth living. If he did leave, that hole in her chest will open up and swallow her whole. Bella would be torn into a million little pieces and thrown into the ocean, all of the little pieces drowning one by one.

Bella fell asleep, dreaming of Edward. Dreaming of them together, their lives will never end. Edward laid awake, staring into the darkness, arms still wrapped closely around Bella. They were lucky they could be together, they were lucky they had a love that could outlast many other loves. And soon, they will be together forever.
