We had made our decision.

I will never, ever, forget that… haunted… look in their eyes as they gazed at me, knowing what we had to do.

I am sure that my eyes looked the same.

Umi pokes her head into the dining room, and her parents glance up.

"Hi, honey!" Her mom says cheerfully, and her father rustles his newspaper as he stares at her.

"Are you all right, Umi?" The concern is evident in her father's voice. Perhaps he notices how pale she was, or the dark bags under her eyes. She hasn't gotten a good sleep in months.

"I'm… fine…" She says, hoping that her voice doesn't sound as weak to her parents as it does to her.

I knew why Fuu had made her decision. Why she chose what she did.

It was because she loves Ferio.

It was so… sweet. Fuu is the only one of the three of us that has had a lover even from the first time we traveled to Cephiro.

I know that Ferio loved her back, with all of his soul.

I know that Fuu was making the right choice.

"Hey… I'm going out… to meet with Fuu and Hikaru at Tokyo Tower… okay?" She says, trying to sound as perky as possible. From the slightly dubious looks she receives from her parents, she knows that she didn't succeed. Nevertheless, they nod.

"Sure. Be back as soon as possible, okay?" Her mother's words cause tears to spring to her eyes.

"Yes, mom." She says, her voice barely a whisper. She steps over to her mom, and gives her a hug, squeezing tighter than usual. She kisses her on the cheek, and then turns and embraces her father. "I love you…" She murmurs into his shirt, once again fighting back the tears.

I know why Hikaru made her decision. Why she chose what she did.

It wasn't quite as obvious as Fuu… but I knew all the same.

She loves Lantis.

Unlike Fuu's… Hikaru's 'romance' had started the second time that we traveled to Cephiro. It was ironic, really, that Hikaru was to fall in love with the brother of the man that she had killed. That we had killed.

But he loves her back, despite all that. He knows the legend, and I think he understands it even better than we do.

I know that Hikaru is making the right choice.

She backs out of the room, not willing to turn away from her parents. I love you… she says silently in her mind, knowing that it will never be enough.

"Goodbye…"

I wonder if they realize why I made my decision.

I think that Fuu may guess, but I don't know about Hikaru.

I love him.

Clef.

I doubt I'll ever tell him, because if he knew…

I don't want to loose him…

…

And that's why I made my decision. Because I don't want to loose him.

She looks at her two closest friends, whom she can barely see through the tears clouding her eyes.

Wordlessly, they join hands and stare around at Tokyo Tower. For the last time.

"Cephiro…" Umi isn't sure who whispered it- perhaps it is all of them.

Then there is a bright flash, and the three are gone.

Gone.

…we've made our decision.

There will be no regrets.
