"That's one of them," Minako purred into her friend's ear, trying to compete with the sounds of the loud music pumping through the club. Even when yelling, the blonde girl's voice never lost its seductive edge.

A raven-haired girl stood at her side, trying to follow her friend's line of sight. "Are you sure?" She appeared disinterested as she stretched her arms above her head. Heads turned to see the glimpses of creamy skin she exposed with the effortless gesture.

Minako pouted. It was always a competition between them. Beauty came so effortlessly to her friend. It was petty of course, but it was only made worse by the other woman's acknowledgment.

"I would bet our Queen's life on it," another blonde answered with a licentious smile. She was dressed in a short, loose fitting pink dress. Her hair was left to cascade down her back, pulled away from her face in a simple low ponytail.

"Then let me get him for you," the first blonde replied. "I like the looks of him."

"That's not why you're here, V-chan," the raven haired-girl responded firmly.

"Oh, but, Rei," the blonde said wrapping her arms around the other girl's neck, mouths precariously close, "I never get to play."

Rei pressed her finger to the blonde's lips. "You know the Princess gets first pick, V-chan."

"Usagi…." the blonde mock-begged as she disentangled herself.

"He's yours, Mina-P," Usagi answered, her eyes scanning the crowd around them. "You know he's not my type. Not like their prince." She licked her bottom lip before pulling it between her teeth.

"You know that I only ever love you, my princess," Mina replied, giving the other blonde's hair a light tug before disappearing into the crowd.

Kai stood leaning against the bar with a drink in hand waiting for his friend to meet him. It had not been his idea to hang out at a club this weekend, but somehow he allowed himself to be talked into it. Now on his third drink, he checked his watch for the hundredth time, ready to abandon this "guy's night out."

Something had been shifting in the air around him all night, making him feel on edge in a way that he had never felt before. Electricity danced across his skin, sparks of heat making him warmer than was comfortable.

At just over six feet, he rose easily over in the crowd. With his defined cheeks and sharply carved, marble like features, he did not blend in easily. He had hoped that the stony expression of annoyance he wore would keep would be admirers away, but it seemed that some endless supply of pheromones in the air kept the crowd's attraction high.

Some girls had attempted to approach him, most pouting and walking away when he shook his head at their attempts for conversation. The bolder ones would wrap their bodies around his as though they were already well acquainted lovers. It's not that he was modest or shy towards the opposite gender, quite the opposite really. It was that feeling in the air that told him to stay alert.

With a sigh he turned back to the bar and attempted to signal the bartender for another drink with no luck. There were four men and one woman behind the bar pouring colorful bottles into rounds of glasses at a speed that was almost dizzying. Unfortunately for the bartenders, they were easily outnumbered one-to-thirty. It wasn't likely he would be getting another drink anytime soon and it was doubtful that he would even be what he ordered. His last three drinks were supposed to be whiskey and somehow ended up being straight vodka.

As he turned back to face the crowd he found himself face to face with a breathtakingly beautiful blonde. She was pressed so close to him, that he had to tilt his head down to fully take her in. Tendrils of hair escaped from the complicated bun she had secured atop her head. Glitter and sweat glistened on her exposed skin giving her an ethereal glow and as the strands of loose hair clung against her seductively. A silky gold sequined halter top covered her chest, leaving her midriff exposed. Fitted black leather pants clung to every curve from her hips to her ankles. Sharp black heels lifted her to her toes to better close the height gap between them.

"Care to buy a girl a drink, Love?" she whispered seductively in his ear, resting her body against his and running her fingers through his silver hair. His eyes met hers and he was mesmerized by the endless depths. She smelled of something sweet and he suddenly had the urge to kiss her to see if she tasted the same.

Her hand fell from his hair to land on his shoulder and proceeded to run the length of his arm. She smiled in amusement as he seemed momentarily spellbound, unable to react to her touch. Carefully she tugged on his white button down shirt, smoothing out the material against his chest with her palms. "Well?" she drawled in her seductive tone.

He looked back to the bartender and signaled for two drinks, this time successfully grabbing the bartender's attention who returned with two tall shots in hand. Probably more vodka.

With a smile, the blonde reached around him for the first glass. She took a small sip, the tip of her tongue licking the drop that remained on her upper lip. He leaned towards her, mesmerized. When his lips parted, she held the glass to his lips and tilted it back for him to drink. When the glass was empty, she let it fall from her fingers to break on the floor below them. She pressed against him, reaching around him again for the second glass, this time downing the contents herself.

Their fingers intertwined and she pulled him from the bar and towards the dance floor. His feet followed obediently.

A strange feeling suddenly overtook him and his mind fought to stop his body from following this eccentric girl. The mixture of the bright flashing lights and the pounding music left him feeling disoriented and he hazily speculated if maybe he had too much to drink.

It had to be more than that though. His body was acting of its own accord and he feared that if she ordered him to stand in front of a speeding train he would have no choice but to oblige her. She found a spot to her liking on the dance floor and moved her body against his, dancing to the beat of the music. He moved with her, their bodies fitting together seamlessly. Her movements were alluring and he craved her touch more and more as each second ticked by.

She pulled his face to hers and kissed him deeply, pleased with herself as his green eyes appeared to cloud over. This first victory was hers, although she felt disappointed that he had put up no fight. She could feel the power radiating off of this man but why didn't he fight back? How could he not sense the raw energy that his body generated.

The music continued to blare and he could feel his heart beating in time to the sound. A moment of clarity overtook him and he realized that they were no longer on the dance floor. She had moved him through all of the tightly packed dancers to a back hallway. How did he not know? It was like she was whispering commands that overrode his mind's ability to do anything else but obey. His body begged to follow her, wanting to give into her every command.

With another kiss she pushed him against the wall and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer so that you could not tell where one began and one ended. His arms automatically moved to envelop her, one holding the back of her neck and the other grabbing her backside. She purred into the kiss and he only hungered for her more with the sound. Her hand subtly moved to settle on the center of his chest and he could feel a warmth emanating from her touch. His chest began to feel constricted and his breath caught in his throat.

"You can't have him, my little Princess," a tall man with black hair whispered into the blonde's ear as his arms wrapped around her from behind. One arm hung loose around her neck while the other held her arms at her sides. They stood alone on a raised platform off to the side of the room. Here the lights were less blinding and it offered a better view of the room and its occupants.

"Endy…." the blonde purred, lightly swaying her body to the music.

"That's not my name anymore, Usa," he replied in his svelte tone. "Why must you continue to call me that?"

"Why do you call me your little Princess? Is it not all part of our game?" she replied with disinterest.

"Where are your other hellions?"

"Around." She stopped dancing and turned her head up to face him. "Would you like me to summon them?"

"Call back Venus. She can't have him."

She crinkled her nose and looked back out over the crowd. "What's he to you, Endy?"

"You can play coy all you wish but we both know that he is my protector."

"And in a moment he will be V-chan's protector," the blonde giggled leaning back against him.

The man growled in her ear and produced a blade that he had kept concealed within his sleeve, pressing it to her throat. "In another moment you will be dead." He could feel her tense within his arms.

"You're not playing nice tonight, Mamoru." All humor seemed to disappear from her voice as she enunciated each syllable.

"You're not playing fair sending that vixen to seduce him. Even if you won't tell her so, we both know that he has a weakness for her. Tell her to walk away and I will let you go - an even exchange. I trust that you will hold true to your word."

"Why can't we be on the same side?" she drawled.

"Call her off now." He held her tighter, allowing the tip of the blade to indent her skin. It was not his intention to draw blood, but he was getting desperate.

'That's enough, V-chan,' Usagi relayed telepathically to her friend. When she received no response, she became angry. 'This is an order!' A hiss from the blonde was her only acknowledgement.

"It's done," her voice took on its bored tone again.

"I knew you wouldn't disappoint me, Princess." He watched as the other blonde stepped away from the light haired man, even at this distance he could see the annoyance marring her beautiful features. The blonde in his own arms relaxed and he knew that this round belonged to him. "Till we meet again." His lips brushed her ear softly while carefully laying a red rose to rest in her hand. He stepped back and disappeared into the throngs of people.

Usagi looked at the rose in her hand and clenched her fist against the stem, angry that she had not succeeded tonight.

Mina removed her hand from the man's chest and he gasped for air. His green eyes met her blue ones and she smiled, kissing him once more.

"What did you do to me?" he asked, to which her only response came in the form of playful laughter as she pulled away from him. He reached out and grabbed her arm pulling her back to him. "Who are you?"

Her head tilted to the side and she smiled mysteriously. "My friends call me V. Perhaps I'll let you call me that as well."

"I'm Kai."

A giggle as she slipped free of his hold. "I know who you really are. Until next time, Love." With one last smile she backed away and disappeared into the crowd, leaving him to wonder if he had been dreaming. The only evidence that she had actually been there was the dull ache that remained in his chest. A hand clamped down his shoulder and he tensed.

"Kai, I've been looking for you everywhere."

"Mamoru, you startled me."

"Are you feeling alright? You look a little pale."

"I'm not sure."

"Perhaps you need another drink. Zach won't be joining us tonight. Let's go find a calmer bar to hang out at."

Kai's eyes continued to scan the room. The feeling of being on guard was present again now that Mamoru was standing next to him and he couldn't help but to feel a sensation that something was still amiss. His encounter with the girl left him feeling somewhat disoriented and he was shocked to realize that a half hour had passed since she first approached him when it felt as if it had been only a few minutes.

"Kai?" Mamoru asked meeting his friend's eyes.

"Yeah, let's go."

Both men headed out of the club, leaving behind the flashing lights and the reverberating sounds. From the rooftop, three girls watched as the men made their way down the street.

"Well, that was a waste," Rei muttered, the wind blowing her hair. "I can't believe you let him get away, V-chan."

"Blame Usagi," she spat, her eyes remaining fixed on the direction that Kai had gone even though he was no longer in sight.

"Not now, V-chan," Usagi muttered.

"You promised me that he was mine. Were you jealous?"

"I said not now!" she yelled at the blonde. "His Prince was here tonight. It seems that they have already found each other. We need to work fast before he can find the others."

"What will we tell our Queen?" Rei asked.

"Nothing of course. She doesn't need to know. All that matters is that we found the last one."

"This one is still mine," Mina hissed. "I don't care if his Prince is standing by his side, I will have him." She lifted herself up into the air and disappeared.

"Why didn't you tell us that he was here tonight, Usagi? Together we could have taken him."

"Tonight he was being playful, I didn't want to attack."

"I hope that you aren't distracted by your past relations."

Usagi laughed at Rei's comment and grabbed her hand. "Let's go, Rei. We have much to do now that he knows of our intentions." Both girls disappeared from the roof leaving a black rose petal to drift onto the ground, the only indication that anyone had ever been there.
