A\N: Short, interconnected oneshots. I'm trying to get back into writing more, so here's a little something that came out of that thought. I have more stories in my queue that I hope to get out sooner rather than later. For now, enjoy. x

1.

The first time he had ever set golden hues onto her, she had walked into his tamer's classroom. She was so quiet and light on her feet, everyone was still turned away from her and bickering in their seats. Even his master, still withdrawn from his classmates and trying to wake himself up, did not notice the new person in the room. But he did, though.

Krad was always watching, waiting. There wasn't much else to do when Satoshi shoved him into the back of his mind. He would typically rest during the day; after all, he needed his strength if he wanted to wrestle for control with his tamer later on. But Satoshi was a weak boy. He tired easily, so he needed to build up the strength for the both of them.

But today had been different. He was restless, unable to sit still for longer than a moment before he was again returning to the outside world through a bird's eye view. And then he saw her walk in. She was quiet, solemn as if she had just woken up herself and wasn't ready to interact with the world. Their teacher was smiling reassuringly down at her, greeting her and motioning towards the class, who were still not paying attention.

The girl had turned slightly as if giving a quick glance over the crowd when their eyes first met. It was quick, far too quick for his liking, he would later admit. She was a small girl, more petite than the rest of the girls in the classroom. She had long raven hair and deep chocolate eyes, nearly black as they swept the room. Her expression was blank and after her quick inspection, she turned back to the teacher.

It was only during that single moment their eyes met, did Satoshi finally look up out of the fact that his chest had tightened ever so slightly. He was normally use to the sudden waves of pain caused by his other half, however, this had been entirely different.

Almost, pleasurable.

The teacher had turned to the rest of them and cleared her throat, letting everyone know it was time to quiet down. Almost immediately, everyone had zeroed in on the newcomer and the gossip had begun once more.

He wanted them to shut up. They were so loud, so annoying. His eyes bore into her person, hoping she'd turn his way once again. She wouldn't. Not now, at least.

"Class, this is Yui Izanami."
