A/N: Well I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow! Its a Spring Break trip - and yes, I am extremely excited. Because of that, I decided to write this short little AU where instead of Connor and Abby coming through the anomaly from the Cretaceous to London present day, it's present day somewhere a little different.
Enjoy!

The jolt through the anomaly was never easy to get used to, no matter how many times they've had to go through. Connor and Abby looked around, their hands clamped together – the anomaly managed to stay open, glittering and reflecting all the light shone down on it.

Connor let out a scoff and then laughed some, looking at Abby with a grin.

"Well, not what I was expecting." Abby said with a smile herself.

Connor nodded, taking in their surroundings. "I think I could get used to that though, yeah?"

Abby smirked at him. The motor-vehicle buzzed past them, then to their right was an elderly Italian man yelling at them in his language. Connor gave the man a friendly wave and looked back at Abby.

"Where do you think we are exactly?"

Connor shrugged. "Rome?"

She grinned. "How good is your Italian accent?"

Connor laughed and wagged his head. "Let's just say our best bet is to say we're tourists."

"Hey, when was that holiday Lester kept promising us?"

"That time was probably used up when we were in the Cretaceous for a year, wasn't it?"

Abby shrugged. "Probably so."

"Oi, who's to say we weren't doing research, yeah?"

Abby grinned again. "So, it wouldn't hurt to surprise them, right?"

Connor returned the beam. "Oh yeah, they won't expect the two missing teammates to be eating spaghetti, I wouldn't recon." Connor looked across at the Italian restaurant on the other side of the street. He wigged his brows at her. "Abs, me stomach's growlin'."

Abby laughed and pulled on his hand. "C'mon then!"

Connor grinned and happily followed behind.

The anomaly dazzled and circulated around, tourists and citizens of Rome gazing at the beautiful and unusual anomaly on the side of the street. Wondering what on earth it was, and how on earth those two Brits came out of it at all. They witnessed as it started to flicker, its lights faded, and then POOF. It was gone.

Everyone shrugged and went along with their day, even the two crazed looking Brits using their salvaged ARC credit card for two massive bowls of spaghetti.
