Chapter 1: The Return
The Smashverse expanded greatly since the brawl tournament. Fighters from all over came to participate in the newest tournament. It was a spectacular event that ended in a bang with the final round of the underdog, Bowser against the Hero of Time, Link. Surprisingly with his new fighting style and six years of training, the koopa king reigned victorious.
This gained the former villain a substantial amount of respect from the other smashers, many now trusting the lizard. Even his old rival Mario gave the turtle king praise for his victory. The tournament was a blast but one hero was missing from the party, but six months after the competition he returns.
SEASON: SUMMER
After Brawl, society of the Smashverse became advanced both economically and productively regarding living arrangements. The central and main city of the world was known as Smash City, a residential town that both non-smashers and smashers alike lived. Theses were mainly citizens from different universes wanting to live in the Smashverse other than their own.
Smash City was a large community that was split into two districts. When entering Smash City you arrive in the Business District, this is where the shopping and entertainment establishments are held as well as the communal areas such as the community pool and park. But in the center of the district was the Residential District where all the residents live. Several apartment buildings, huts and houses could be found there but the main attraction was the Smash Mansion. A place where only certified fighters that are claimed smashers resign.
Arriving into the Business district gates was none other than Red, the Pokemon Trainer. It's been six years since he left the Smashverse for his "special training" and this once 12 year old is now a strapping 18-year old adolescent. He didn't come alone this time though, beside him was his training partner and friend, Ruby.
Ruby was born in the Hoenn region and like Red was a battling protegee becoming champion at the mere age of 10. He saved the region from the legendary weather trio and the two evil syndicates Team Magma and Team Aqua and continued to travel to vast lands to become stronger. But he earned his ultimate challenge when meeting Red, receiving his greatest confrontation yet.
They entered the city, both gaping in awe. Red could hardly recognize the place, last he remembered there was a dirt road path and up the road was the mansion. Seems time doesn't sit still in six years.
"Seems Master Hand has done some spring cleaning." Red remarked staring at the various establishments.
"So much for just a dirt road and large mansion." Ruby added, "It's gonna take forever to find this place! I thought you told me it was just up ahead!"
Red shrugged placing his hand behind his head. "Seems they changed a few things, not surprised it has been six years."
"Yeah." Ruby replied.
The young trainer stared down at the ground for a few seconds contemplating then turned back to Red with a concern look in his blue eyes.
"Red?"
"Hmm?"
"Do you think they'll like me?" the white hat trainer questioned, "I know you said you didn't gain much credit when there before but will they think the same about me?"
Red blinked twice before smiling slapping his friend on the back, "Don't worry Rubs, why do you think we did all that training. Once they see us in action, they will respect us in no time!"
"You think so?"
"100%!" Red smirked.
A smile grew across on the gem named trainer's lips, gaining a new fraction of confidence in himself.
"Thanks Red."
Red continued to smirk walking through the expanded town looking forward to meeting his old friends.
"No more will I sit on the sidelines, right Charizard?"
The two continued to walk down the new and improved Smash City, but they were no where close to where the mansion was located. They just kept finding more shopping malls, foreign restaurants from different worlds, and work shops. But they weren't in any rush, it was practically dawn when they made it into town, no need to be in any hurry. They were both equally curious of the new city and what it had in stored.
They made their first halt at the clothing departments of the city, Ruby being the fashion freak that he is ram sacked each store stating how "fabulous" he'll look in the clothing he saw. Red sighed at the ordeal and while his partner was trying on his new duds, he stood outside the department, leaning against the building scanning the area.
"Six years...I've been gone that long." he thought to himself looking up at the bright blue sky, "Will they even remember me? I mean I have changed a bit, who knows maybe they have too."
But the trainer was snapped out of his train of thought as a loud noise erupted out of no where.
"VROOOOOOMMMMM!" the noise roared.
"What the heck is that!?" he shouted holding his ears, trying his best to mute the obnoxious noise.
Many citizens around his did the same or ran inside a building, a better place to block out the noise. Trying to find the source Red looked down the road and recognized a purple Cadillac zooming down the streets blasting a tune he couldn't but recognize.
"Don't tell me its..."
"ITS-A-WARIO TIME!"
The millionaire tycoon plumber was standing on his styling ride, he flexed his muscles for all the ladies to see with a giant grin on his face whose teeth sparkled as the sun reflected off those marvelous chompers. It was the opposite of the hero Mario, his rival Wario. He was shorter than Mario and far more greater on the weight scale. Instead of his usual purple and yellow threads he was rocking his Wario Ware, Inc. duds and in the driver's seat his "alleged" brother Waluigi.
Red looked on in disbelief, his eye brow twitching and face flushed with shock. "I guess those guys never change." he chuckled lightly.
"What is that disgusting noise!" screamed Ruby rushing out the clothing store his arm filled with different colored an styled bags.
"Oh that's just Wario. Don't worry he's no harm." Red remarked.
Ruby squinted at the zooming purple ride and noticed something peculiar in the vehicle.
"Is having a damsel in distress considers a person as no harm!" Ruby shouted pointing at the young girl in the back of the ride.
Red double checked and saw that in the back seat of the car was an orange haired girl who looked around the age of 18 that was strapped up, squirming to be free.
"Shit! How couldn't I see that!" he grumbled through his teeth.
"I got this!" Ruby stated jumping into the street in front of the car's path.
He readied himself, bending his knees and pulling left arm back. Waluigi saw the teen in the street and began to honk his horn constantly.
"GET OUT OF THE ROAD YOU PEA BRAIN!" he screamed.
Ruby ignored his warning and kept his stance preparing for the car's arrival. His left arm began to glow a white hue covering it entirely.
"WE'RE GONNA CRAAAASSH!" roared the lanky anti-plumber.
"HAMMER ARM!" Ruby bellowed.
And with a powerful slam of his energy embedded arm, the trainer slammed the vehicle's hood with a mind blowing force causing it to stop dead in its tracks. Both Wario and Waluigi were launched out the car simultaneously while the young girl fell onto the floor of the car. Wario slammed into a street light and was followed up by his brother, both falling over unconscious. The music finally stopped and everything became silent, smoke filled the air from the now destroyed hood of the car and Ruby deactivating his power rushed to help the young girl.
"Nice work, Rubs." Red congratulated walking towards the destroyed car. "But did you really have to bust the hood? I bit overkill don't you think."
"I couldn't think anything else." the trainer confessed going to the back of car.
Scanning the now stiff car Ruby noticed the young lass on the floor of backseat still gagging from her strapped up mouth. Ruby gently took the handkerchief out her mouth and from reflexes she gagged and choked for air.
"It's okay," he assured her, "everything is fine.
"T-thanks.." she choked rubbing her throat, "Oh man that was close."
"What happened?" Red asked leaning against the car.
"Well I WAS actually one of their employees," she explained, "My name is Mona, former vice-president of WarioWare, Inc. They fired and kidnapped me because I refused to be part of their newest mini game attraction."
Ruby and Red looked at one another and shrugged, "What was the game?" Ruby asked.
Mona blushed a fiery red hue and looked away nervously, "A s-swim suit dance party game." she mumbled. "I mean I don't mind being in a swim suit but the fact that I have to dance in front of a bunch of old geezers! Sorry man, not my thing!"
The two trainers both blushed, they could obviously tell from Mona's physique she was quite fit for that role. She looked as if she was a c-cup at the most and her school girl appearance only made her more of an attraction to look at.
"S-so why did they kidnap you?" Ruby stammered looking away still blushing lightly.
"They kinda fired me but then didn't want me to leave, I don't know does strange things at his business." Mona explained.
"I bet." Red mumbled.
"I really wanted to get an interview with the winner and runner-up of the previous tournament and..."
"Wait the tournament already ended!" Red gasped.
"Uh duh, "Mona replied, "Almost six months now."
"I guess we showed up too late." Ruby said to his color named friend.
Red grunted kicking the car's hubcap. He thought he still had a little time before the tournament started so both Ruby and himself could be apart of it and show them their new powers. But I guess his training took longer than he hoped. He could only sigh and turn back to the once kidnapped Mona.
"Oh well," he spoke, "we can always go see them. So who won? Mario? Samus?"
Mona giggled a bit, "Actually none of the original 12 won this year."
The Kanto Champion held back his gasp looking at her with shock. Never has he heard of the big 12 not winning the tournament in years. Since the tourney back almost 20 years ago.
"So who was it?!"
"Bowser." she answered.
Red's eye twitched, "No way, your kidding me? Bowser! The punching bag Bowser!"
"Yea we were all shocked of his performance. He toppled everyone and his final match with Link was so surprising. He gave Link no mercy, he stood no chance."
"Who's Bowser?" asked Ruby confused of all this newly acquired knowledge.
"People that you will meet soon, Rubs." Red tightened his knuckles unleashing a popping sound from each bone, "So Bowser is the new champion, huh." he said with delight.
A bright smile came to his face revealing his sharp teeth, "That's just fires me up! I guess I just need to take that title from him!"
"I suppose so," Ruby said sarcastically rolling his eyes. "But how do you suppose we get there?"
"I can take you guys there!" Mona said, "It's the least I can do for saving me!"
"You sure, you can always just give us directions and we can walk there." Ruby said feeling guilty of having her help them after her recent situation.
"It's no biggy!" she insisted, "Walking will take all day, so I can just drive you there."
"In this hunk of junk." Red said kicking the car.
"Oh I know the Wario Mobile still has a little juice in her yet!" Mona proclaimed.
The young girl leaped into the driver's seat and turning the key into the ignition, the car began to power up once again yet black smoke from the busted engine resumed to fill the air when doing so.
"See nothing to it." she said proudly, patting her chest.
Red looked at Ruby and shrugged, "Whelp looks like we have a free ride."
"I guess so." Ruby laughed.
So the two trainers joined Mona into the ride and with a loud screech they make a quick u-turn and made their way to the Smash Mansion.
"Finally I'm coming home guys!"
