Felix Anderson read the contract. A single page. A task, a target, and five names.

"Never heard of them," he said absently as he checked the back hoping for more.

"Not even Light Fiend? His exploits were famous twenty years ago," Lyllth said from behind her desk.

"A bit before my formative years, sadly."

"Huh. Well, I'm sure you'll be up to the task," Lyllth said, and started scratching away at a new piece of paper on her desk. Felix thought he had been dismissed. Certainly she wasn't going to talk again.

"There's no information on here, Lyllth. Is this really how contracts are handed out? I've always had a bit more to go on in the past." Felix showed the lack of information to her as he spoke and managed to pocket a shiny looking desk weight as he moved the paper around flamboyantly.

Lyllth continued writing for what seemed like enough time that Felix thought she may not have heard, before she put her quill back in the ink pot and folded her hands neatly in front of her. "We do typically like to add more information before handing out a contract for someone's first time, but you're a full fledged member of SI:7 now. We had you sworn in."

"In a back alley after dispatching someone."

"Secrecy is paramount," Lyllth countered. "You're to use your own network to find out what you need to do. You and I both know that you weren't hired because you're good at following orders, Felix. You excel when you are left to your own devices." All of this with a charming smile and a glint in her eyes. Felix assumed she had been chosen for her ability to seduce and charm.

"Right. So... I'll just be off then?"

"Right you are, Felix!"- and her face lit up the room with it's smile. Damn, Felix would go to war to preserve it. "Oh, you will notice it says urgent at the bottom, of course. Not as urgent as the bulk of SI:7 work these days: time paradoxes rarely clean themselves up so we're pretty busy thanks to this whole Iron Horde business, but we believe a complete collapse of the financial sector in Stormwind and Ironforge will happen within six months."

"That sounds kind of bad. I'll get on it." Felix rose to leave.

"Kind of bad? Financial stability is integral to the security of The Alliance, Felix." Lyllth's face had gone hard. "You know of our history. You know the hard work we put in to keep villains like Edwin Vancleef away from power. Him ruining Westfall was a small price to pay. Imagine if he had simply been able to buy himself a position of power. Corruption runs deep, Felix. Cut it's heart out and do it early. Otherwise that corruption will take over." Llyth sat back in her chair. Felix felt that she kept the reality of the contracts she wrote out of her mind. Maybe he was seeing a real crack in her facade. "We have armies to deal with dragons and elementals. That damn Iron Horde too," she practically spit their name. "But we only have a select few covert agents to deal with threats at home. If the kingdom falls, the kingdom falls. It doesn't matter if it's from within or without." She sighed deeply and her smile magically appeared again. "Don't dally, Felix! Keep me updated in the usual manner and return when this whole business is dealt with."

Felix could only stand in slightly shocked silence as her monologue finished and she went straight back to writing. There was nothing else to say so he turned and reached for the door.

"Felix. Stop trying to steal from me. You're not that good."
