I know you're sick to death of this, but I do not own Zelda or any of its characters. I don't own the lyrics to "Drive", either. they belong to Incubus.

A/N: Yes, I'm a Zelda/Link fan! But if you aren't, then just put your person's name in Zelda's place. and no nasty reviews like "Link and Zelda? Yeah right!" Let's keep it decent here!!! ^___^ This is my first Zelda fic, and also my first song-fic. so cut me some slack, all right? Enjoy!!!!

Link slowly walked toward Zelda's castle, drawing deep breathes every few seconds. He broke into a run to lower his stress, hurried across the drawbridge, and slid into the gardens quietly. He snuck past the guards (there was no need to, but.) and walked into the Central gardens.

She, of course, was there. Her golden hair shone in the sunlight and danced in the wind. She was beautiful.

Sometimes

I feel the fear of

Uncertainty stinging clear

Link's voice shook as he called out, "Princess?"

Zelda turned, and her eyes brightened. "Link!" she cried, but grew solemn, "is there trouble?"

"No. I."

Zelda grinned and threw her arms around Link. "I missed you! Ever since the moon incident, I swear you've been avoiding me." Link smiled, hoping she couldn't see his guilt.

And I can't help but ask myself

How much I let the fear take the wheel and steer?

It's driven me before

And it seems to have a vague haunting mass appeal,

But lately I'm beginning to find

That I should be the one behind the wheel.

Link took a breath. He was going to ask her. Going to ask her to marry him.

"Zelda.?"

"Yes, Link?"

"Would you."

Zelda's crystal blue eyes brightened, "Would I what, Link?"

Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there

With open arms and open eyes.

Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there.

I'll be there.

"Would you."

So if I waver my chance to be one of the "high"

Will I choose water over wine, and hold my own in drive?

It's driven me before

And it seems to be the way that everyone else gets around.

Zelda's face was bright with anticipation, but Link couldn't do it.

"Would you like to hear me play my Ocarina?"

Zelda looked disappointed, and whispered, "I would like that."

So, with a sinking feeling, Link pulled out his Ocarina and began to play Zelda's Lullaby.

Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there.

Link watched Zelda's face as the melody floated to her ears. Her lip trembled. She sighed, and closed her eyes.

Would you choose water over wine?

Hold the wheel and drive?

Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there

With open arms and open eyes.

Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there.

I'll be there.

Link felt his heart drop at her sigh. With his heart rising, he felt inside his pocket, and closed around a small case. He pulled it slowly out, and put the Ocarina down.

I'm beginning to find that when I drive myself my life is found.

He got down on one knee, and opened the case. A diamond ring sparkled from inside.

Would you choose water over wine?

Hold your wheel and drive?

"Will you marry me?"

.I'm beginning to find that I

Should be the one behind the wheel.

Zelda knelt down beside him, and whispered softly, "Yes."

.I should be the one behind the wheel.
