A man in a long black cloak and a jaunty top hat on his head jumped down from a building. His alias was the notorious Kaitou Magician, a name found on multiple Most Wanted lists from around the world. To him, life was a game and he indulged in shaking things up to keep his experiences interesting. His natural high came from pushing his own limits and tonight he had only had one goal in mind: to steal the heart of the Li Clan's cherished Small Wolf. The magician may just be a humble thief of the night, but the very thought of taming the wild beast to make him his very own pet was much too delicious of a challenge to pass up.
Li Syaoran was not one to have a reputation of being pliant. Brought up in an environment where tradition and heritage were sacred, he was shaped to be a warrior and discouraged from becoming too liberal with his thinking. He figured if he kept up with both his studies and his training the day will come for his mother to choose a suitable bride and he would go through the motions of raising a family and teaching his children the values that were instilled in him. He never had the slightest urge to succumb to earthly pleasures as he ranked himself above such distractions.
He had no idea what was in store for him that night.
"Did it hurt?"
Syaoran looked up and saw a man in the most ridiculous looking outfit that he had ever seen draped casually on a park bench.
"Sorry?"
"Did it hurt?" the stranger repeated, slowly getting up to walk towards him. "When you fell from the sky because you must be an angel ."
Syaoran quickly excused himself and darted off in the other direction. But by the time he turned the corner he almost ran smack into the same stranger who was nonchalantly leaning against a lamp post.
"I could show you a good time," he continued as if teleporting to another location so quickly was no big deal. "Come with me, kid, and I can treat you to a wild night of the most epic parties that you can ever imagine.
Syaoran growled in response and dashed into the woods to hide in a particularly tall tree.
"Well if you wanted a more intimate setting why didn't you say so?"
"Nooooo!" screamed Syaoran as he tried to inch himself away from the mysterious man who was perched on a nearby branch. "What's your problem? Why are you following me? What do you want?"
"I. Want. You."
Chills crawled down the boy's spine and he took a moment to really study this man who has spoiled his evening. Past the silly attire, he seemed to be a tall and thin individual with long fingers and the most unnatural looking blond hair that he had ever seen on a person. He did not feel comfortable being in such close proximity to this shifty character, but if tonight proved anything it would be that to continue running was pointless.
"Don't you know who I am?"
"Li Syaoran, descendant of Clow Reed and future Chosen One," replied the man with a bored sigh. "Forever trapped in a strict regiment of drills and training, he wouldn't know what fun was if it hit him smack in the face."
"Hey! Just who do you think you are?"
With the grace of a swan and the agility of a cat, he rose to balance himself on the branch and bowed deeply.
"I am the Kaitou Magician and if you let me I can rock your world."
Syaoran gulped. "I-I don't swing that way."
"I know."
"Then why are you here?"
"I like to keep things in my life... interesting."
"You're not going to stop following me, are you?"
"Now you're getting it."
"What's it going to take for you to leave me alone?"
"Just one drink. You look like you could use some fun."
Syaoran was going to apply more resistance, but the stranger did have a point. His responsibilities had a way of making his life unbearably mundane. A true loner, he didn't have buddies to romp around with compared to others his age. Would it be so wrong to take a peak and see how the other half lived?
"Fine," he grumbled to show that he was not pleased, and the pair hopped out of the tree.
Still, Kaitou was sure that by the end of the night the Small Wolf would be singing a different tune.
