Laughter could be heard from the couple lying outside of the Cullen house on a picnic blanket. The sweet sounds of giggling could also be heard from a child.

The woman's chocolate brown curls were ruffled around the bottom of her hair, and the lacy white sundress she wore blew through the mid-summer breeze. Her ankles- perfectly crossed - and her skin sparkled like a white diamond. The man had brownish bronze hair, which was slicked back. His attire wasn't very beachy, in fact it looked more like he was an Irish beggar about to board the Titanic. His pale features were just the woman's beside him.

The child, however, took more resemblance of the woman. Her dark brown waves were cascaded down her back. She wore a matching lacy white sundress- but her's had black polkadots.

"Renesmee, we have another surprise." The woman said, her voice thick and sweet.

The little girl's green eyes widened, and the curves of her lips formed a smile. The man chuckled, as he saw his child's joy filled face.

The woman reached over in the grass, and chucked out a small black box. The ribbon was made of lace and it was white. She handed it to the small child beside her.

"It's from Uncle Aro, the kings, and guards." The woman said, and the man's wide eyes filled with horror.

The little girl- Renesmee- gently lifted the lid off of the box and pulled out a small chain. Only seconds later, connected to the chain was a metal circle. It had a ruby in the center of it.

She laid it on her belly, and pulled out a white piece of paper. She unfolded it and started to read from it.

"Dearest Renesmee,

We at the Volturi would love to have you and your lovely Cullen family at our annual Christmas dinner. And we would also like to offer your parent's a place in our MAIN guard. We all hope to see you their, dearest Renesmee.

-Volturi"

The woman shifted her position onto her side. She felt very uncofortable as her child slipped on the necklace that the Volturi sent her.

"It's marvalous, isn't it, Mother? And it's just like the one cousin Janey and Alec wear, isn't it, Father? Oh how I can't abosoloutely wait to thank Uncle Aro and the rest of the guard for this beautiful present and invite to the Christmas dinner!" Renesmee rejoiced.

After a couple of minutes of awkward silcence, Rosalie stepped out of the Cullen house with a pitcher of a red liquid. The dark haired woman stood up and confronted Rosalie.

They exchanged odd looks and hushed whispers and Rosalie went back inside the house, with the pitcher.

"Bella," The man began. "What is the matter, love?"

The woman - Bella - heaved a heavy sigh and looked at the man. "Edward, you can't possibly expect the family to agree to go have a "Christmas dinner" with the Volturi..escpacially after what Alice predicted would happen if we fought, of course we'd win, but I won't risk the lives of Carlisle, and Alice and all the others who perished in Alice's future prediction before we canceled out the thoughts of having a fight with the Volturi that winter...Remember?"

Edward closed his golden eyes, and then they fluttered open again, "Love, we can overcome that. That was like a million years ago.."

"That was six months ago, you ninny!" Bella exclaimed, in a fit of giggles.

Edward chuckled, as his daughter ran around, the necklace dangling from her neck, blowing bubbles with a circle-shaped bubble wand.

"Bella," Edward spoke, pulling his lover closer to him, and cuddling on the blanket with her. "We have another six months to decide on if we shall go or not." He smiled as he saw Jasper and Alice playing tag with Renesemee.

"I think we'll be fine for now."
