"Hmn?"

The small ones eyes opened, revealing the scenery in front of him. His head lifted, shook and those eyes blinked trying to make sense of the surroundings the young one found himself in. The locale seemed to be a lush green forest, light filtering through the trees and onto the grass and brightly coloured flowers that bloomed around the young one, oddly enough everything seemed to be larger around the male. The faint sound of a calm flowing river reached the males ears and it seemed to remind him of how thirsty he was, like sandpaper being scraped against his throat everytime he breathed in.

The young one attempted to stand up as he was eager to find the river nearby to quench the terrible feeling in his throat, only to have shock wrack his body and a gasp leave him at the sight of his lack of arms. "W-What is this?! What's going on?!" The male squeaked, frantically looking over the two small purple wings that were in place of his arms and hands. The boy scrambled to his small feet and scurried to the sound of flowing water 'This can't be happening! What happened to me?!' thoughts ran the small male's head as he crashed through green, berry covered bushes. Crying out in pain as thorns stuck into his skin, squeezing his eyes shut in order to avoid his eyes being stabbed up the sharp needles. Suddenly with a loud splash, ice cold water surrounded the boy whom's eyes opened only to feel the sting of cold water enter them.

As quickly as he fell in, the young one was slowly lifted out of the river and gently placed on the grass next to a towering nearby tree "Oh my, Now what's a little Noibat like you doing out here so far from Skypeak? You're so young too! Where are your parents?" A soft, mature masculine voice reached the boy's ears as his thoughts slurred together "Noibat? What are you talking about?" he asked. The boy lifted his head up from the ground slowly and his eyes fluttered open, seeing the owner of the voice, to which his said eyes widened 'A Roserade?!' he seemed absolutley gobsmacked by the thought of a talking pokemon, pokemon didn't talk...did they? Horror dawned on the young 'Noibat' as he could not recall anything from before he was unconsious, panic welled up inside the boy's chest as he tried to stand up again frantically and, once again fail to do so.

The Roserade lifted his eyebrows and tilted his head "What do you mean young one? You are a Noibat, are you not?" Roserade asked politley, extending his arm to help the boy up "If I may, may I ask you your name? If that's not a bother of course, My name is Roserade and it is a pleasure to meet you" Roserade chuckled with amusement as the boy readily accepted the help and was lifted to his feet "M-My name?" the boy heard an echo of a word in his skull, calling out to him.

Alex.

His name was Alex.

"Alex" Alex answered as he tried to regain his breath, quickly holding onto the tree next to him for support, digging the two claws on his pair of small wings into the bark. Roserade crossed his arms and touched his chin with one of his flowers "You are a strange one aren't you, little Alex?" he asked with a hint of curiousity in his tone, before shaking his head and smiling warmly "Anyways back on topic, Noibat's like you shouldn't be away from Sypeak village, are your parents anywhere near here Alex, if you don't mind me asking?" Roserade's gentle red eyes laid on Alex's yellow ones as he awaited an answer. 'What should I do? I can't lie about having parents, he'll find out sooner or later! What to do, what to do?!' The turned Noibat's head began to rush with thoughts as different possibilities played through his mind 'I can't tell him that i used to be human, he'll think i'm crazy!' Alex concluded as his large purple ears twitched in nervousness.

The Noibat slowly let go of the tree and took a deep and sad breath "I-I don't have parents, sir" He lied, well he thought he lied anyways, he had no memory except for knowing his name and that he was human before somehow turning into a pokemon. Roserade's warm expression quickly morphed to one of worry "Oh...I'm so sorry..." The grass type unfolded his arms and knelt down to Alex's level, his red eyes locking with Alex's golden yellow ones "Do you have anywhere else to go now, little one?" He asked with a feather soft tone. Alex hesitated for a few seconds, before shaking his little head "N-No sir..." he bowed his small fuzzy purple head and broke his gaze from Roserades, unable to look the grass type in the eye.

Roserade stood up and gave a sigh before looking at Alex and looking behind him beyond the trees, a small smile played on his lips and he turned to the small dragon type "Well, Alex...I live in a small village by a lake not too far from here, if we follow the river we might just reach it in a hour or so, prehaps we can find you a place to stay there" the Roserade gave a closed eyed smile and extended a arm to a stunned Alex "Y-You would do that for me, sir?" The small boy asked, taking the grass type's flower like hand and a slow smile grew on the bat pokemon's face and he felt the sun hit his face as he stepped forward "Why yes, of course! It's the least I can do for you!" Roserade laughed, leading Alex down river. Alex looked around, drinking in the surroundings around him, the bird pokemon perched on the thick tree branches which tangled overhead stared down at the two travelling pokemon. The sunlight filtering through the leaves and lighting the forest floor was a beautiful sight, dappled light hit the ground and bathed everything in it's light and reflected off of the running river.

Alex spied multiple Basculin and other fish pokemon swimming in the water, a couple fluffy Ducklett gliding on the surface of the azure water, towards the same way that Roserade was leading Alex to. Alex stared at the two Ducklett with a sense of curiousity "Do they live in the village too?" he turned towards Roserade as he inquired, to which the flower pokemon chuckled "Ah, yes those are Swanna's children, Aqua and Lacy, Swanna is a good friend of mine i'm sure she will treat you well once we get there" Roserade's eyes seemed to sparkle happily "It's a very peaceful place Blossom village, far different from the Skypeak village that you're used to" Alex couldn't help but feel a little guilty at the lie he told about being from Skypeak.

Suddenly, a small gasp shook Alex's guide and the journey came to a halt as Roserade raised an arm and pushed Alex behind him, Alex squeaked and quickly regained his balance, glancing around he had noticed that even the Ducklett had stopped moving "What are we gonna do now?! How are we gonna get back home?!" they all began to panic much to Alex's confusion as he cocked his small head to one side and looked up at Roserade. To his surprise the grass type also looked rather shocked, Alex followed Roserade's gaze and saw the entrance to a deeper part of the forest, no light seemed to filter through the trees and the forest floor was bare and dry. "No, it can't be...not here too...not so close to the village..." Roserade muttered with widened red eyes before slowly turning his head behind him to see Alex with a serious expression on his face "That is a Mystery Dungeon, they have been appearing all over the world as if late, there seems to be no other way around it, it is important that you stay close to me in this place, understood?" Roserade asked.

Alex was taken aback, holding Roserade's stare for a few moments before nodding stiffly, dread rising up from his stomach and settling in his chest "Y-Yes Roserade" He answered softly. Roserade nodded firmly and turned to the two Ducklett "Aqua, Lacy!" He raised his voice towards the panicking duck pokemon whom had stopped crying and turned to him "Y-Yes Mister Roserade?" Lacy asked softly, leading her younger sister out of the water and towards Roserade "I am going to lead you through this Mystery Dungeon so you can get home to your mother" Alex shyly shuffled behind Roserade as the two sisters came close "You will?! Thank you Mister Roserade!" Aqua squealed happily, wiping away her tears.

Roserade smiled at the two "Why of course little ones!" he chuckled as he brought the arm Alex was holding onto beside him, so the two Ducklett could now see him "As you can see you're not the only ones i'm leading to Blossom Village so please stay close to me, this dungeon looks to be a small one but there are still dangerous pokemon inside" Alex squeaked as he was brought into sight and the two sisters gasped "A Noibat?!" Lacy's eyes widened at the sight of the unusual bat like pokemon "I thought they all lived up on Skypeak with all the other dragon types!" Aqua added, jumping up and down and flapping her wings, amusing the older grass type and to a lesser extent Alex.

"I know, I was shocked when I found little Alex as well...but nows not the time for dillydallying" Roserade looked up towards the sky, dappled sunlight hitting his face "If we wish to reach the village before nightfall I suggest we head out now while it's still sunhigh" He motioned for the three young pokemon to follow him "Come children, follow me and stay close" Roserade began to start toward the enterance of the Mystery Dungeon. Lacy and Aqua followed closely behind the grass type while Alex hung back for a few seconds, before shaking his head, ears flopping about as he scampered after Roserade and the young Ducklett.

As soon as the four pokemon entered the Mystery Dungeon the atmosphere changing instantly as they walked under the canopy of tangled branches which strangled all light that hit the trees from above. Aqua stuck close to her older sister like glue as Roserade led the three children into the Mystery Dungeon, determined to lead them back to Blossom Village safely "Now children, there are rather unruly pokemon here that will attack us if we are not careful" The grass type informed, looking over his shoulder and down at the three children "Which is why you stay close and do not under any circumstances wander off, alright?" He inquired. "Yes Mister Roserade!" Aqua nodded with a smile, completley trusting her mother's friend "Right behind you Sir!" Lacy agreed, fluffing out her feathers to look bigger "I'll scare off any pokemon that come near!" Roserade chuckled as they continued walking "Terrifying" He played along.

Alex kept quiet, not wanting to attract any attention towards himself as he followed closely behind Aqua. The small Noibat glanced around with golden yellow eyes, it was rather dark as no light was coming through the branches and the forest floor held no grass, only dead leaves and small twigs as a result. Alex's ears drooped as his newfound fur stood on end, he could feel eyes cutting into him from everywhere around them as they traveled through twists and turns in order to reach the end of this 'Dungeon'. Once Alex had enough of staring at places he thought pokemon would jump out from, his eyes faced forward only to see that Aqua had turned her head to look at him "How did you find Mister Roserade, Alex?" She asked, walking slower in order to walk alongside the Noibat.

Alex returned Aqua's gaze "Oh, well, Roserade found me...I fell in the river and he picked me out of the water" This only made Aqua's face twist to one of confusion "What were you doing near the river?" She inquired, snapping her head towards her sister and Roserade for a second as they rounded a corner. Alex turned his head to the ground and shrugged his wings "I ran through a thistle bush and closed my eyes, I guess it was right near the water" He tried to explain the best he could. "Oh! That was the loud splash we heard!" Aqua's eyes sparkled with happiness, Roserade shook his head and smiled at the two chatting as they walked, he quite enjoyed the small conversation the two young pokemon were having as he led them through the dungeon. The bouquet pokemon saw light from up ahead, he knew this dungeon wasn't a large one as the Village was not far from where they started "We're almost out of the Dungeon children!" He informed the three, Aqua and Lacy cheered as they sped up their walking a bit.

Alex tried to keep up with Aqua as they continued forward "Hey, maybe I can show you around the village once we get there!" Aqua giggled, flapping her wings happily. Alex nodded with a small smile, a warm feeling echoing through his body at the thought of making a new friend so quickly "Y-Yes! I would like that if it's not too much trouble!" the bat pokemon smiled wider "Not a problem! I'll just need to head home with Lacy first to tell mom that i'm going to show you around! And...well, that we almost got lost in a Mystery Dungeon" Aqua sheepishly laughed.

Alex laughed along with Aqua and Roserade smiled warmly as he stepped out into the sunlight as they exited the dungeon and everything seemed to have it's colour once again. Flowers were blooming, grass had returned, the sky was a beautiful blue and the sparkling river was in sight once again. "Blossom Village is just past these trees! You can hear the Pokemon chatting from here!" Roserade laughed and lead the children through the large trees and into a very large clearing in the forest.

Alex's jaw dropped as he saw small huts of either stone or wood dotting the clearing, a large lake in the center of the village where water pokemon played inside and swam peacefully, beautiful flowers carpeted the grass as pokemon chatted and talked to the various shopkeepers in the main part of the village. A large building on a hill overlooked the clearing from afar, Alex couldn't guess what the building was from where he was standing but he was sure he'd get to know during Aqua's promised tour. "Well, me and Lacy need to get going to tell mom! See you later for that tour!" Aqua flapped her wings as she and Lacy took off to the other side of the lake and into a rather small house.

Roserade turned to Alex "Well Alex, here we are, Blossom Village! A Pokemon's paradise!" he proclaimed, gesturing to the village behind him.
