"Hi. My name is Audrinette Agreste, my favorite color is blue, and my favorite food is Lady Noir chocolate." The entire class exploded with laughter after the 12-year-old new girl with black hair and green eyes introduced herself.
"Yeah, right." chortled a girl with blond hair and blue eyes that looked remarkably like a Barbie doll. "You really expect us to believe your last name really is Agreste?"
"Hey, lay off!" said a voice. There, standing in front of The Barbie Girl was a girl with brown hair in a ponytail and amber eyes. She had headphones around her neck, a plaid shirt, jeans, and red sneakers. She had reading glasses on her forehead, acting as a headband for her curly hair. It was Lavender, the daughter of her parent's friends, Alya and Nino.
"Oh, and what are you going to do about it?" asked Barbie Girl, smirking. "Shoot lasers at me from your headphones?"
"Um…," Audrinette interjected. The two girls continued glaring at each other as if they hadn't heard her.
"Nope." said Lavender icily. "But I don't think you would like to know."
"Class?" said the teacher, coming into the classroom. "Would you please sit down?"
Everyone hastily returned to their seats, and Audrinette decided to sit next to Lavender. The girl nodded at her, smiling, then turned her attention back to the teacher. Rummaging through her shoulder-bag, Audrinette found a small pastry box her mother had managed to slip into her bag with a small note attached to it.
For my little kitten
Love,
Mommy
Inside were two chocolate macaroons. Audrinette looked around. Lavender was listening to some music on her headphones, her glasses perched on her nose as she did her work. When the teacher had her back turned, Audrinette poked her and handed her a macaroon. "Thanks for saving me back there," she whispered.
"No problem, girl. Cleo is evil. We good guys got to stand strong."
They giggled, before quickly quieting down after receiving a glare from the teacher, -what's-her-name.
Huh, Audri thought, grinning back at her friend. This might not be so bad after all.
Yes, she could definitely get used to this new life. Probably. Maybe. Sort of.
Okay, before people start throwing virtual stones at my virtual windows, yes, I spelled Adrinette wrong. But, I changed one letter. I don't want poor Audri to suffer the weirdness of that name. And all of you smart readers out there probably already know what I have in store for her. And some of you also must be thinking this is so short! Well, guess what? The next one will be longer, promise. And, if you haven't already noticed, Cleo is Chloe's daughter, and Lavender is Nino and Alya's. I don't know how I said that calmly. And there will be no romance in this. Sorry! But I wanted to try something different. So, yeah. And this will not go higher than K+, okay? Good. Oh, and, how should Lavender and Audrinette bug Cleo? I am depending on ideas from ya'll.
