Sarah slipped out of the yellow dress, and into a more comfortable pair of jeans, and a purple sweater. The sooner she washed away those memories of 1911 the better.

It had, in her opinion, started to go wrong when the TARDIS materialised 69 years too early. And five men had died: both of the Scarman brothers, the Egyptian, the butler, and Doctor Warlock. Coming back to find Warlock, lying dead on the sofa, had been horrible, and Laurence Scarman had been just as shaken by it as she had. The Doctor had, if possible made things worse for Laurence. Every single time he mentioned his brother, the Doctor would snap at him to stop thinking about it like that. It might have been necessary but it wasn't particularly well done, and the Doctor, so intent on destroying Sutekh, didn't seem to care.

If anything, Laurence's death had made it worse. Despite his continual references to his brother, which annoyed the Doctor, he was determined to help. When he saw the TARDIS, his excitement was like that of a little child's.

Sarah would never forget her state of shock, when he collapsed out of the chair onto the floor. The Doctor had simply checked his throat, said "Strangled," and went back to work. It was then that Sarah had had enough, and had burst out:

"At times you don't even seem human!"
She knew perfectly well what a stupid thing it was to say, but the Doctor's complete and utter indifference when he calmly told her five men had been murdered was unbelievable. How could he not care?
And as for taking her to alternative 1980, well...Sarah should have known better than to try and prove the Doctor wrong. Seeing the year she came from turned into a kind of Skaro was horrendous.

All in all the entire 1911 experience was just far too much for Sarah, and when the Doctor asked her why, in response to her statement that she didn't know why 1911 was one of his favourite years, she had snapped:

"Because, unlike you Doctor, I'm only human!"
