The Day the Wizarding World Stood World
This Day in History: October 31

Today has proved to be a most memorable day in the past. This All Hallows Eve is still honored as Samhain, but ever since That Day exactly fifty years ago today, we have painted it a new day: Victory Day. The day He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was finally defeated by the Boy Wonder. The Boy Who Lived not once, but twice. There is even, as we speak, a new bill running around the ministry attempting to hail this not only as Victory Day, but Harry Potter Day. It is common, especially during this time of year, for pot-lucks, parades, parties, celebrations, and even brawls to take place in Harry Potter's honor. It is even noted that this is the single most common day for wizarding folk to practice a muggle paint technique, called "tattooing", in placing permanent lightning bolt shaped scars on ones body: particularly the forehead! Little can be said that has not been said about this day in papers, on the radio, or even in homes around Britain. So, to do justice to this day in history, I will now print, for everyone and all's enjoyment, the top ten headlines following the defeat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
