Consequence
Have you ever brought down a government
That terrorized the land?
Or declared your independence
From oppression's crushing hand?
Have you ever overthrown a leader
And refused to signal retreat?
Or raised a screaming riot
And brought it to the streets?
Have you ever made a public protest
And been arrested for the deed?
Or been accused of disturbing the peace
Then not bothered with an innocent plea?
Have you ever been caught and tried
For taking a swing at the rules?
Or found corruption on your doorstep
The day you just lost your cool?
Have you ever been too exhausted
To defend your very defiance?
Or known you're in the right
For refusing to show compliance?
Have you ever tried to argue
That heroes start with a streak of fight?
Have you ever questioned authority
And lived to pay the price?
