Summary: Rachel talks to Finn after he sings Jessie's Girl in Glee club. (A little Finnchel and a little St. Berry)
Spoilers: Up to and including "laryngitis"
Pairing: Maybe a little Finnchel (Finn/Rachel) and a little St. Berry (Jesse/Rachel) but it is Rachel-Centric.
Authors Note: This started out as a drabble but didn't quite work that way. Hope you enjoy it.

The class is letting out and Finn is the first one out the door, Rachel runs after him (isn't she always) and pushes him into an empty class room, "What the hell was that?" she yells before he even really knows what just happened.
"What…?" he asks turning around to face her, dropping his backpack on the ground. It lands with a thump and he has to pinch himself a little to remind himself not to laugh at what is supposed to Rachel's angry face.
"Why would you do that?" she asks, "why sing that song in front of everyone?" she asks, arms waving frantically.
He actually physically can't stop himself from laughing this time, "It was like a week ago that you played that Run Joey Run video in front of the whole class."
"So it was revenge?" she asks, settling her hands on her hips.
"It wasn't revenge…it was the assignment. Mr. Shue told us to sing about where we are right now, so that's what I did…" he trails off, his voice quieting down a little as he finishes.
She shakes her head, "That's not fair" Rachel says. "You said you didn't want me." He starts shaking his head and opens his mouth like he wants to speak so she raises her voice and keeps going "I had the biggest crush on you, and you knew it and you loved it and you played in to that." She swallows hard and keeps going "then when we were together you said that you didn't want to be my boyfriend, and I met Jesse after that." He's stopped trying to interject now, head down and just looking sad and kind of sorry, "I never would have even considered Jesse St. James if I thought that you…well if you hadn't said that you didn't want me. But Jesse does want me and I like that feeling." She stands up a little straighter and tries to sound very serious, "I liked you a lot Finn, but you said that you didn't want me so I moved on. It is not my fault or my problem that you didn't know what your truly wanted until you couldn't have it."
She turns on her heel and walks out of the classroom leaving Finn there by himself. He doesn't follow her, he's pretty shocked by this turn in Rachel and it takes him a minute to digest this new side of her. But, it's more than that…Jesse is trouble and everyone but Rachel can see it – that guy is going to break her heart and when he does Finn will be around to help her. It's not like he wants it, wants to see her heartbroken and sad but it's inevitable, so he'll hang around and be her friend until Jesse shows Rachel and New Directions his true colors.
