Deep within the suburban jungle of Manhattan Island, a day care building had somehow been transformed into a zombie hive. Either it was just bad luck for the preschoolers, or God had a sick sense of humor. He could have picked any of the mobster owned warehouses or insurance sales buildings, but he picked a day care center. Never mind that, it's not important.

Alex Mercer was desperately trying to destroy the building, unable to get close enough to use a devastator maneuver. Those zombie toddlers were just too dang scary. Alex looked around for a tank, finally spotting one in the middle of the zombie filled street. Even though it continuously scored hits with its massive cannon, it seemed unable to actually damage the building. Stupid game, forcing the main character to do the work himself…

Alex grabbed the nearest soldier and consumed him in a nearby alleyway, remembering to lick up the blood puddle to avoid leaving evidence. It was delicious. He hummed to himself as he walked through the piles of bodies and knocked on the hull of the tank. The tank driver poked his head out of the vehicle. "What do you want?" he asked angrily.

"Can I come in?" Alex asked, looking up at the man expectantly.

"No." said the tank driver. "You get to stay outside."

"But I want to come in." Alex said. "The handbook says 'If any soldier asks to enter your tank in a combat situation, then you have to let him.'"

"Does not!" shouted the tank driver. "Besides… What could you do to help fight zombies if you're sitting in a tank?"

Alex looked perplexed. "Um… I could drive the tank!" he said.

"Cool!" said the tank driver. "But that's my job, so you don't get to come in."

"But…"

"No buts about it." The driver said as he went back inside.

Alex was angry. "Fine!" he shouted. "I don't need your stupid tank! I'll go get a helicopter!" He marched off, mumbling to himself like an angered six year old.

Echo unit's pilot watched the fight from twenty stories up, calmly firing missiles into the crowd. He was surprised to hear a knocking on his window. He turned to see a soldier hanging off the side of his chopper, bonking the glass with his hand. "I have no idea how I got here." Alex shouted. "But can I come in?"
