CROSSING THE SKY
A/N: First Kingdom Hearts fanfic O.o Possible SPOILERS! Well…Enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: I do NOT own Kingdom Hearts… or fire… or fireworks. I just play with them XD
The day was cold. Is cold. Roxas' breaths come out in puffs of white clouds. It's so cold, Roxas thinks, that I can see my breath visibly… what am I doing here anyways?
"Axel, why are we here?" The blond asks.
"Shut up, sit down, and watch the sky, got it memorized?" the red-head says smirking at Roxas' bewilderment. "You're gonna love it. Trust me on this one."
Roxas just rolls his eyes at the last statement.
"Can you at least tell me where we are?"
"Shhhhhhh" Axel puts a finger over Roxas' mouth to silence him "It's starting…"
As the last word was being said, something flashes in the sky, lighting the world briefly, then disappears. Roxas watches the sky transfixed and amazed as more and more of the flashes occur.
Then…
"FZZZZZZZ….SHHHHHHH….KA-BANG!"
And a burst of colors appear over head. Royal purples, hues of green, a shade of gold, and crimson. Shards of the colors start falling down, all the while changing color and shape.
"What the hell was that!" Roxas demands, fearful of the colors and sounds that were new to him.
"He he he" Axel chuckles "that, my friend, was a firework. And don't worry there are bigger and better ones to happen. That was only the beginning."
'Bigger AND better?' Roxas gulps fearful for more.
"FSSSSHHH"
Roxas winces at the fireworks sound, but no bang follows. He opens his eyes and is astonished to see flares of gold go up in the sky, then turn red as they fall.
'It's beautiful' he thinks 'but not as magnificent as the first.'
" Fsssshh, pop pop pop pop!"
Silver lines are left in the sky by this firework, and pop in brilliance of pinks and purples as it reaches its highest point of ascent.
"Pop pap pop pap… POP!"
Slivers of silver twinkle in and out of view in a crazy dance in the sky, followed by a magenta and baby blue firework that started as a circle and ended in a start-like shape.
Neon green and sea green pop in close together blurring their true colors. Red and blue flowers appear entwining themselves and falling down. The acidic smell of burnt and burning fireworks reach Roxas', making him twist his face in a look of disgust.
"He he. I dunno why you don't like it, but it's the best smell ever!" Axel exclaims as he inhales the smoke.
More fireworks appear and disappear in the sky. The world becomes a blur of color, like, smoke, and sounds. Lights flash. Colors dance together. Hues of red, blue, yellow, green, pink, purple, white, and silver blink in and out of view. Aqua colored sparks fly left and right as magenta and red make a flower. Pink and yellow make swirls around the magenta/red flower. Up high a rainbow of colors appear. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet splash across the sky. And, in a blink of an eye, the flashes stop, the colors fade into black, and all that remains is firework shells, grey smoke, and the memory of the once beautiful colors.
'I wonder how it would feel like to be crossing the sky like a firework…' Roxas thinks.
"Laaaaame." Axel says interrupting Roxas' thought process, putting his arms behind his head and flopping backwards onto the grass.
"What do you mean? That was AMAZING! It wasn't "lame"!" Roxas says defensivly.
"First off, the beginning was slow, Second there wasn't enough red in there and Third there were less then last year." Axel counts off his list. "Would you like me to continue or should I stop there?"
"…you can stop. But why did you bring ME here?"
"Just wanted to celebrate with my best friend. One more week and you've been in the Organization for a year!"
"…"
A/N: I hope I didn't spoil Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days for anyone D: but in truth I haven't finished it my self XP I was supposed to post this for The 4th of July but circumstances haven't let me. Happy late 4th of July…
