Kazu felt around half-heartedly for his alarm clock. Coming up short, he groaned and rolled over; maybe it would turn itself off.

Or maybe not. He pulled himself into a sitting position and peered blearily at the darkened surroundings of his bedroom/workstation. He spotted the AWOL clock on top of a veritable mountain of junk and scrap metal, remembering that he had meant to repair it the day before after having thrown it against the wall in an attempt to get more sleep.

There it was again. Where the hell was it coming from? It sounded like it was from one of the drawers in the workbench beneath his bunk. He groaned again, trying to remember the last time he had cleaned it out, before jumping to the floor.

He turned to the nearest drawer and began rummaging through it noisily; discarding random socks, broken pencils and old batteries on the way. A click and a whirr behind him told him that his digimon partner had just awoken, confirmed by the annoyed "What are you doing now, Kazu?"
"Morning Guardromon."Kazu responded cheerfully, a pair of boxers flying over his shoulder. Gaurdromon caught them neatly and muttered "You didn't answer my question..." before folding up said article and placing it neatly to one side.

Kazu's eyes widened as his hand clasped something cold, hard and extremely familiar to his fingers amongst a pile of old and tattered cards. He pulled it out and showed it to Guardromon who looked perplexedly between his human friend and the small device held in his hand.
Having lain dormant for seven years, Kazu's D-Arc was alive again.
