Okay, this wasn't mean to be a Digimon poem, but, after writing it, I re-read it, and decided that it sounded like something Ken might think, deep inside

~*Conflicts of the mind*~

A smile is a symbol of joy,

Shown in joy through the day,

A laugh is a joke at a ploy,

Let loose to help pave your way.

An embrace is an action of love,

To show everyone that you care,

A promise is watched from above,

So that it will not tear.

Happiness is meant to last forever,

A laugh, never to die,

Love to be cast aside never,

A promise set in trust to lie.

A kiss should chase away all clouds,

And happiness should never decay,

Head, in prayer, should be bowed,

And all sorrow forever chased away.

This is how it is for others,

For everyone with the exception of me,

As my heart drops down more southern,

To stop it, I need the lost key.

For me, a smile is shown grimly,

As forced as forced can be,

For me, a laugh is let out dimly,

Never sounding good when it's from me.

An embrace is lonely, far as I'm concerned,

As I embrace my thoughts to myself,

And from my point of view, a promise can be burned,

As all my secrets are let out in stealth.

For me, happiness is never near,

And a laugh doesn't sound through the air,

For me, love isn't anywhere here

And promises I cannot bear.

For me, a kiss has bitter tears,

And happiness never lives,

And though I wish, no inner peace is near,

And sorrow is all everyone gives.

And so where everyone else is happy,

I sit alone, my thoughts grim,

When I wish I were always filled with glee,

My thoughts become even more dim.
