"Hello, FanFiction."
Mothstar settled comfortably on the moss and turned to face her audience.
"I apologize for my inactivity on this site," she began. "I haven't abandoned it, I promise! Just life, y'know? The rigors of schoolwork, living my life—it's been tough. I just haven't had time or motivation. I've written a few things, but they're rough, unfinished, or both. Thanks for enjoying my writing enough to follow me, and I hope I haven't disappointed any of you who have eagerly awaited updates. They will come, someday. In the meantime, give me a nudge as to which story or stories you'd like me to update sooner. I'm not dead, I promise! And if you have messaged me and I haven't replied, well, I finally got a YouTube account, so I forget to check this site. I'd tell you my YouTube account, but it's my real name (silly Google) and I don't want to, like, endanger myself or whatever."
Splashheart came up next to her and licked her ears gently. "The Moth in the Meadow Neko is still in progress, yes?"
Mothstar swatted at him playfully. "You just want to be a neko, you silly cat. Just let me know what your predictions are, or if you want to see something happen, I bet I could throw in a bit of fanservice."
Splashheart raised an eyebrow, if cats have eyebrows. "Oh? Fanservice?"
Mothstar's tail swished up over her mate's mouth. "Shush. I think that's about it, FanFiction. Thank you so much for all you've done! My friends on this site, my followers… Even with other sites becoming more popular, this is where my online writing began, so I'll stick with it."
"I want to make a pun," Splashheart interrupted.
"Be quiet!" Mothstar sighed. "That's all, folks. Have a merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! And if any readers celebrate Hanukkah or Kwanza, happy Hanukkah and Kwanza and whatever other holidays there are! Mothstar out!"
