This story is about a girl and her fox. Hinata Hyuuga and her pet had met when she was ten years old. She found it injured at a roadside, whimpering in pain due to a bloodied paw. Her heart almost broke in two so she took it on her arms, trying to not worsen it's condition, and went home. Her mother was surprised when she saw the fox but helped her daughter to take care of it. They discovered that it was just with some cuts, no bone was broken. The fox took two months to heal completely, but it refused to leave the side of the girl that saved his life. Hinata was overjoyed because she had gotten attached to the fox as well. She named him Kurama, taking care of him not like it were just a domestic animal, she cared for him like a true friend. When her mother and father said that they should give the fox to a zoo, she refused strongly, even telling them that Kurama was more tame than the dog from her friend Kiba. Kurama stood at Hinata's side wherever he could, accompanying her for three years until a tragedy feel over their friendship.

Hinata was walking with Kurama like she always did, but in that day a man was driving drunk, and his car was going in the direction of Hinata. She was distracted, not noticing the running car, but Kurama saw it, so he ran and tackled his owner, taking her from the car's route, but his brave act costed his life. Hinata couldn't believe in what just happened, her friend of three years was dying in front of her eyes because she was careless. Not wanting to lose her bond she cradled the fragile form of Kurama to her body, Kurama sensed the distress coming from his owner, so he tried to soothe her by licking her cheek, but it took the last of his energy and he took his last breath.

She buried the body of her pet in a small clearing located in the hill near her house, making a tombstone with a rock that had the shape of a fox head, wrapping the leather collar on it for better identification. That was her haven, where she cried until her tears ran out, then she sobbed in grief for the loss of her best friend.

As the time passed, she began getting over her sorrow, but never forgetting the fox. When the collar rotted by the weather, she made a shed, buying a new collar to replace the old one.

Now three years had passed, as she began high school, blissfully ignorant of a future turnabout in her life.

Very short indeed, but if I get feedback maybe I will write more. Please review and give a honest opinion (I don't mind about flamers)
