I woke one morning and to my ears

I heard crying and shouting all from down stairs,

I slowly went down to hear all the fuss

When I heard your name I could not believe,

I ran to your room to tell you the story

Expecting for you to laugh and tell me "it was only a joke",

I got to your room and knocked three times

Remembering what had happened last time,

When no answer came I opened your door and called your name

I expected you to rise but saw your cover stand still,

Not wanting to believe I ran down the stairs

Taking two to three steps at a time,

When I didn't see you I prepared for the biggest shock of my life
