"How could this possibly be so easy? Ridiculous mudblood." Draco had always been a prat and the whole school, other then his own house, was well aware of that. So it should have been no surprise to any of them when the blonde found a certain piece of ministry property left unguarded, that he would take possession of it with little forethought. The owner, Hermione Granger, was bowing to a hippogryph and had removed her time turner just incase things should go horribly wrong. Malfoy had only seen the chain peeking from her unguarded school bag.
"What is that?" His oaf of a friend questioned.
Draco thrust it into the boys face with a confident grin. "Take a look at this. It's a time turner Goyle. Rumor has it that Granger attends more classes then anyone in the school." He threaded his fingers through the gold and placed it around his neck. "I don't think there's a spell or anything for it." In seconds Draco regretted every decision he'd made that day. With a flick of his thumb and forefinger, he'd spun the turner like a top, watching it wiz in circles.
"D-draco." Crabbe was stepping from foot to foot unsure or how to handle this. His best friend had shrunk down to the size of a 4-year-old. Neither of them knew what to do. They stood in silence for just a moment before a shriek had them parting and revealing the newly de-aged blonde to the rest of his class.
Ron was on the floor, holding his sides, face redder then it had ever been with his laughter. "B-bloody hell!" Harry was still on his feet, a wicked grin adorning his features as he pet the half bird half horse.
Hermione was the only one of the lions who honestly cared that something had happened and didn't find it all that funny. "Malfoy! What's the matter with you? Honestly, you're father works for the ministry. Don't you know that using ministry property that is bound to someone else, can harm anyone who even touches it?"
Draco's cheeks were red and his eyes slightly puffed. half the class was laughing, half did nothing, and the mudblood was scolding him like she was his mother. "Maybe you shouldn't leave dangerous objects lying around then Granger!" His voice was so small and delicate that it started a whole mother fit of hysterics. In a moment though he was scooped up like a kitten and moving towards the school. Hagrid wouldn't sit by while a student was magically harmed. "Put me down!"
Even Hermione who was momentarily worried that the jewelry was still around the Slytherin's neck, was smiling at the happenings in Care of Magical Creatures. No one knew other then Malfoy that she even had a time turner. She was happy for it to stay that way, so she'd have to come up with some excuse to keep it secret. Malfoy would't let it get out, seeing as he'd have to admit that he stole something and that he'd messed it up. Her secret was safe for now, she thought.
