This is my first CSI fic, so it may not be excellent, but please review to tell me what you think of it!
Shower, mirror, polished shoes, ironed, blue shirt, black Chinos, Rolex watch, shaver, hair gel, comb…
Wait. Where was that comb?
Come on, come on, come on! Nick thought frantically as he dug through his bedside drawer. Hair gel's there, but without the comb it's useless!
He glanced up from his crazy search and looked into the attached bathroom.
There the comb was, beside the hair gel.
Nick grinned sheepishly to himself as he ran through the list of things, done or undone. What was left was just the polishing of shoes, and he knew that it was the most important if he were to gain respect. He had learnt not too long ago that people did look at your shoes, and they actually were more important that most people thought it was.
This meeting was really quite important for him. Be late, or gain respect? He weighed the consequences.
Oh heck, just brush them, they'll look fine. But remember to take that shirt off first, you don't want to crumple it.
'Right.' Nick wondered why he was talking to himself. Ugh, he was going crazy. Just polish them shoes, wear that shirt, comb that hair, and get out!
And he had ten minutes to do that.
'Oh forget it, ignore the shoes!' He jumped up and reached for his shirt, sticking one hand inside. While reaching for the other, the phone rang.
'Damn that phone.' He rushed to pick it up. 'Hello?'
'Hey, Nicky –'
Damn the person on the phone, too. 'Can you not call me Nicky, Grissom? I'm not as talented in singing as that Westlife – Westside – Westlife – whatever! member Nicky Byrne!'
A pause on the other side. 'Are you stressed?'
'Yes, actually. Is this important? Any leads on the case or something?'
'Oh, no. just wanted to wish you good luck for later.' A snicker.
How very helpful. 'Why, thank you! Are you done?'
He put down the phone without waiting for an answer. He turned around, sighed, and thought to himself: okay, Nick. Face it. What she'd like is not how I look, though that'd probably be an added bonus.
With that, he took one last look in the mirror, locked the door behind him, and climbed into his car.
I hope I can continue it(: But ideas as to how would be greatly appreciated!
(Hint: Review. :D)
