A single street light flickered on, off, then on again, unsure if it was day or night. The clouds, grey and shapeless, had rolled in and it was now spitting down raindrops. Each little drop hit the cobblestone street with a *plink*. Small businesses lined the streets. Though at a time they might've been bright and festive, they were now dull and weathered. On top of the stores were old, stuffy apartments. You could easily see the wear and tear on the buildings; the dry wall would be cracked or a window broken.
The town from the outside seemed almost dead, except for the occasional barking of a dog or the fighting of two or more drunkards that would usually end up in gun shots. This was the place where drug lords resided and murders were a given. Though most towns have gangs, this town hosted something bigger, the Mafia.
The sound of heels clicking on the uneven streets echoed through the town. A petite brunette was the source of this sound. Her wavy locks blew slightly in the wind. A slight curl placed on the left of her head bobbed in the wind, defying gravity with its ability to stay up. In her hand she withheld a small hand gun, under her skirt she had hid a sheathed knife. You could never be too careful in these parts of town, forget to arm yourself and you were as good as dead.
The Italian turned a sharp right to a secluded door. Slowly and careful she slipped through the doorway, trying not to attract too much attention to herself. She carefully stepped into the dim, musty room.
"Lovina, my dear~"
She jumped slightly not expecting that Russian bastard to be here. "I'm not your dear." She spat through her teeth.
"Oh don't be silly of course you are" He said with an ominous smile. "Now, either way. I have heard you're leaving our little... Group, Da?" He said referring to the mafia
"Si." She said plainly too him
"Well I can't let you do that quite yet."
Lovinas eyes filled with fury at hearing this. "And why the fuck not? "
Well, you had 100 jobs to fill until you were released."
"Yes, and all one hundred have been filled" She started furiously. "So now-"
"You failed, remember, your first job."
She started at him. How did he even know? "It was my first time… I got to know him too well… It was my bad."
"Yes it was and now you have to finish it"
Lovina stiffened "No. Fucking no Ivan"
"So no freedom?" He smirked at her
"THAT'S-"
"Life. That is life." He walked out of the room, turning on his heel before he shut the door. "Your choice"
She groaned, 5 years ago her first case was to simply kill a man. To shoot him, but before she could he had decided to win her heart, unknowing that she was ready to kill him. Win her heart he tried; win her heart he did with his piercing emerald eyes and his care free chocolate brown hair. She had gotten to the point where she couldn't even hurt him. So she left, dropped the case and moved on to the next, one as far as possible from him. Now her job was to kill him. Antonio Fernandez Carriedo.
