Hey, guys, it's Alex The Owl!

Now, you may or may not know it, but this is my first ever Legend Of Zelda fanfic. In fact, I'm pretty new to the whole world of LoZ. Breath Of The Wild is the only game I've played and whose story I entirely know. I did play Wind Waker, but I didn't went farther than the Rito Village. Anyways, please try to be nice with me and don't yell "It is supposed to be like this", "They did that in the other game", or anything else; this is my first LoZ fanfic.

Except that, I hope you'll enjoy it :)

Breath of the Wild

A golden light was shining in the far distance of darkness and he was somehow advancing toward it. He could also distinguish a voice in the endless echo...

"...Open your eyes..."

The golden light become so strong that he found himself plunged into light where darkness once ruled...

"Open your eyes..."

The first thing he saw was a strange ice blue light coming from the ceiling above him.

"Open your eyes...Wake up, Link..." The strange feminine voice continued.

Once his eyes were fully open, Link realized that he was laying into what seemed to be a small bathtub of water with more ice blue light shining underneath the surface. Strangely, the water seemed to fade away, leaving his wet body that was covered by nothing more than a pair of dark blue boxers exposed to the cold.

Groaning a bit, he putted himself in a sitting position and waited for a small stun, probably caused by a long sleep, to fade away before taking a closer look at his surroundings. To his confusion, he seemed to be into a dark room illuminated by the ice blue lights that created a small aura all around with the walls and floor decorated with strange bronze patterns. There was not much in here except the bathtub in which he was sitting.

After many more seconds, he finally found the strength to put his feet on the cold floor outside the tub, sending a wave of cold through his body, and stood up which made him feel dizzy again for a brief second. Once it passed, he gave a closer look to the room and spotted a strange circle-shaped board next to a big squared door in which there was even more strange patterns.

Seeing nothing else to do, the young boy walked over toward the board, rubbing his long blond hair that rested on his shoulders with a small ponytail tied in the back to get some water off. After quickly examining the board in question, he noticed a strange rectangle-shaped object, laying right in the middle of it, as if this board was made specially to hold it. Suddenly, the board reacted and turned the little object in different directions before it was lifted off in his direction, revealing the other side that had a strange pattern in the shape of an eye with an ice blue light in the middle.

"That is a Sheikah Slate." The mysterious feminine voice spoke again. "Take it. It will help guide you after your long slumber."

Scanning the room for any sign of the voice's source in vain, Link then picked the 'Sheikah Slate' in his hands and held it horizontally. A strange screen turned on on this side. This mysterious tablet had a glowing center, he never saw this device before, but yet there was something...familiar about it.

Link was then brought out of his thoughts as the door suddenly opened with a grumbling noise. Tying his new item to the belt around his waist, he walked through the now open door and found himself in another room like the previous one, except that it was more like an hall and there was ice blue torches on the walls and treasure chests and wooden boxes scattered around the place.

Curiosity getting the best of him, Link opened one of the chests which contained an old, thin shirt that has clearly been made long ago. It looked a bit damaged, but was still better than nothing. Though the sleeves seemed to be a bit short. To his joy, the other chest contained a set of well-worn trousers that were threadbare in spots, but looked rather comfortable.

Putting his new odd but comfortable clothes on, Link looked at himself for a brief moment before walking to the end of the hall where he found another circle-shaped board like the one in the previous one. Strangely, this one was shining with orange light instead of blue. Suddenly, the mysterious feminine voice spoke again.

"Hold the Sheikah Slate up to the pedestal. That will show you the way."

Without really knowing why, Link decided to obey this voice and putted his Sheikah Slate right over the board which turned blue and said "Sheikah Slate confirmed." before the big door opened just like the other one did, opening the way for Link to continue advancing.

This time, however, a light invaded the room and it was not the ice blue light in which he was plunged since the beginning; it was the sunlight. He had to cover his eyes with one hand for a brief moment before his eyes got adjusted to the light he must not have seen in an eternity and walked in front of a set of stairs.

"Link... You are the light - our light - that must shine upon Hyrule again. Now, go..."

Once the voice finished talking, Link started walking up the stairs and noticed that there was some snow in the corners of the steps. After coming across a small pond of water and climbing up to the very end of the steps, Link finally exited the cave in which he was sleeping and stepped onto a ground of grass with a few trees around. However, those were nothing compared to the next thing he saw.

Arriving on the edge of an hill, he was gifted with the view of a seemingly endless landscape decorated with green life, including trees, and even higher hills. Up at the horizon, he spotted what seemed to be a castle and even a volcano along with a few mountains. And that was not even counting the wonderful sunset at the edge of the blue sky that came with a fresh breeze that made the leaves and grass dance.

To be short, it was the definition of the word 'beauty'.

Breath of the Wild: A New Adventure

Do you enjoy it so far? I sure hope, 'cause it was only the beginning to something epic.

To make things clear, it won't be just a copy-paste of the actual game, but will follow Link along with a team of OCs that will accompany him through his quest to save Hyrule. Since this world is so big, I'm open to other OCs and also suggestion for side quests or fanmade ones and how they should go.

This will be a long story ;)
