Prologue
Sixteen Years Ago:
Tornado like wind swirled and howled through the trees and buildings, the strength of the wind threatened to slice and end the two beings before the winds. They both grunted and held their ground all the while they glared at the kimono wearing woman with such malice that she would have died if looks could kill.
Time was running out for everyone, their lives were running out as they bleed from deep wounds given by the other. Victory was on a very thin thread, and moved towards the one thing they did not want it to go. They were running out blood, out of time, and out options.
"It is no use! We must do it now before it is too late!" yelled the man who held several paper suitars, clinging to dear life to the large tree. His deep brown eyes looked straight to the amber colored ones beside him. The look was determined, yet saddened at what would have to happen next.
The amber colored eyes and white haired yokai turned to their comrade and nodded with the same determination and sadness, having the same thought as the battle continued on. This was their last chance to save not only humanity, but yokai as well. If they did not do this, they would surely lose and both races would soon perish by the hands of their greatest foes.
A dark sinister and powerful laughter came across the winds did not seem to let up anytime soon. "Try all you wish, you can not hold onto your pitiful lives any longer. You both will die and I will take what is rightfully mine!" roared the voice as it boomed and echoed across the lands.
"Now Priest!" yelled the yokai as he charged with the last of his energy to distract their enemies.
The priest nodded and pulled out a pinkish sphere that glowed in the darkened winds. He held the sphere in his hands tightly as he closed his eyes in deep concentration. "Please, let this work…" he begged before suddenly blue light shot into the gray sky for a moment, then it rained down in a fog like veil covering onto the bloodstained and war covered grounds, thus dividing the two cities off. It rippled as it pulses with heartbeat animation. Soon screams of the nearby enemies were heard as both the male and yokai looked upon the barrier. The winds slowly died down and the sky began to reveal it's sunny nature.
"It was an honor to fight beside you," said the priest quietly as he was soon pulled inside the foggy barrier.
The yokai looked upon his comrade and smiled sadly as he felt himself being pulled in as well. "The honor was mine…"
And thus the war ended with the barrier in place. Both the human and the yokai knew what it meant in their actions. They knew...and yet did it anyways, leaving their kind and their loved ones behind to continue on the battle. To save their species. To save those that they cared for and loved deeply. If there was a way turn time back, they still would have repeated the sacrifice again and again if it meant their families would be safe.
