Why me?

Set in Melbourne, Australia. Max has just moved into Australia from America. She's the new girl in school and no one likes her. What happens when she starts getting new friends and falls for the mysterious Nicholas Martinez, the person she hated from the first day of school? Hey and this is my first fanfic, so be nice! Lots of fax and there is sure as hell going to be tons of Niggy. Enjoy! R&R

Hey guys, so it's been a while. A really long while. But just letting you know. I have made changes (definitely more than a few) to the story, so I recommend that the people who have read this story earlier start again. Having read this story, I realised how improperly I had written this a few years ago, hence the changes. Sorry for the realllly long delay guys! Hope you like it!

Max POV:

I guess I am a bit excited. But come to think about it, maybe I am not as excited as I should be. But then, we are leaving our dad behind.

Cue dramatic sigh.

Ok, ok, I'll start from the beginning.

I am Mackenzie Alexia Ride, Max for short. Why Max? Because Mum came up with it. Anyway, my little band of misfits, aka, my family consists of my mother, Valencia Ride, my father, Jeb Ride, my little brother Aric, Ari for short (Who shortens an already short name? Don't ask me, it's just one of my Mum's amazing creations) and of course, yours truly.

Coming to the point, we are moving to Australia! Yay, right? I mean, seriously, new place, new school, new people, new accent... I hope you caught my sarcasm.

To be honest, I am dead scared. I am not exactly what you would call 'a social butterfly'. In fact, I mostly don't fit in well with people. Why? As embarrassing as that is, I am a little shy. Plus, to make me feel even worse, my Dad has to stay behind to finish off some work related matter, before he joins us in Australia, which is odd as we're only moving to Australia because he got transferred. Anyway, being a childish 11 year old (soon to be 12), I miss my dad already as I wave out to him, with my mum tugging on my arm whilst holding a hyperactive 8-year old Ari with her other arm as we make our way into the airport check in area. My dad waves back, grinning, whilst also yelling out "I'll be there in a week Maxie".

With one last wave, I head to the security check whilst my Dad goes out of my line of sight. Sitting on the plane with my Mum and Ari, I hold her hand, which I feel tighten back around mine as I fall into a deep slumber.

Australia: a new life.

We had rented a house for the time being until we get settled. It wasn't the greatest house but it was comfortable. Right now though, it was a mess and as I tared at my bed with my suitcase and bags on it, only one thought dominated my mind. 'Screw it. Need sleep.'

So with that beautiful thought in mind, I carefully pushed my bags and what not from my bed and flopped down, letting my jetlag take over.

The next morning, I get up, feeling my mother's lips on my forehead.

"Morning Ma." I say sleepily.

"Morning Max. Get up and get dressed. We need to go check out Ari and your new schools."

I groaned mentally.

So after checking out Ari's 'primary school', which apparently consists of grades between kindergarten and grade 6 and my 'secondary school', which consists of 'Year 7 to Year 12', we set up the house, had dinner and flopped back on our beds.

Man, I really need to get used to this huh? Sighing and thinking about how the next two days of the weekend were the only days of freedom I had left before being plunged into high school, I slowly drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

So, did u guys like it? Please do show me with your reviews if you do.
