Island adventure through time

Chapter One

" Hey, there are falling stars tonight!" I exclaimed. I was looking through the e-mail that the space.com has given me. " And this week, mars will be very close to the earth , we got to see this, it only happens every 600 years!"
" Big deal Ana Marie, who cares if the stars are brighter of something, It doesn't do anything to us or anything." Jeff said. I am 13 and Jeff is my younger brother, who is 8 . Sometimes, I thinks I could have a sister instead. We also have a baby brother, named Bart. Let me tell you, I have two families. My parents is divorced. But Jeff is my real brother, we were born from the same parents. Mom ( Teresa) and Dad ( Richard ), but then they got divorced, and my mom married David, my step-dad. My dad married Sharon, my step-mom, and they got a new boy named Tom (we call him Tommy ).Every other weekend, we go visit my dad, who live in Washington, which is not really that far from Los Angeles, California. But still, we have to fly in the airplane. Then My mom and David got a baby boy too, named Bart.
okay, Back to the story. Well, me and my brother was arguing when my mom got in.
" Hey hey hey, What is going on here?" My mom asked. But before I could say anything, Jeff was way in front of me.
" She is bothering me!" Jeff said with those puppy eyes looking at my mom.
" No I wasn't, I was just saying that there was going to have meteor shower today and mars is going to be closer to the earth and it is going to be brighter, then he said so what." I blurted out.
"This is no way to treat a younger brother!" My mom said, but I can tell that she is not mad at me.
" Ok" was all I said, And she walked out of the room.

I tell you, being the older kid is tough. But I've got to admit, that is a stupid way to start a fight. It was just a comment... Still...
My brother looks proud of what he just did, but I am no 3-yrs old, I am not going to argue with him. I walked out of my room, and headed to my mom.
" Mom, so are we going to see those comets? It's a once-a-life chance experience. Please mom, please, please, please?" I blurted out before she could say anything.
"I don't know... Where will be the best place to see it?" She asked
"Let me check... practically anywhere, but up on the mountain where the observatory is is the best ( at least I think so )"I replied.
"Oh, ALright. Since it is almost your birthday." She said uncertainly. I knew I could count on her!!
"Thank you Thank you Thank you! You know, I can kiss you right now." I exclaimed.
" Wait, I change my mind." I added. My mom just smiled. If I could go back in time, then I now I shouldn't have begged her.
