It was raining.
The sky was gray and bleak; a perfect match for the mood between the two brothers.
Seven other people watched them from a distance.
The older brother approached the younger slowly.
"I have to go. They're waiting."
The younger looked at him desperately.
"I'm sorry!" he shouted. "I'm so sorry! I never thought this would happen!"
The older put his hand up to stop the younger.
"I know. I'm not mad at you. You had to listen to your boss and he ordered all of this. Just like their bosses told them to break us apart and give me away to appease them." He pointed over the other's shoulder. "Look. Do those faces look like they're happy about this either?"
The younger turned and saw that the seven others all had somber expressions on their faces.
He shook his head.
"I don't think so."
"Exactly. They don't want to separate us but they have no choice in the matter. They're all forced to do what their leaders decide. The stupid mortals don't realize that their decisions will continue to affect us after they're gone." The younger started to cry silently. "Hey, don't do that. You are strong and will stay that way without me. I know that they've taken so much from you, but bear through it." He saw the tallest man start walking towards him. "I'm going to go now but I won't be gone forever. They'll let me out one day and I'll come back as quickly as I can. Nothing lasts forever. Remember that."
The man reached them and placed a possessive hand on the older brother's shoulder.
"We go now, da?" he asked.
The older man nodded.
"Ja. I'm ready now."
Watching through more tears, the younger saw the tall man lead his brother away.
"Auf Wiedersehen bruder," he whispered.
AN: Okay so! This story is kinda a songfic because when I was listening to the song that inspired this, I was working out the story in it.
The song? Eisamkeit.
The Germany/Prussia duet.
If you haven't heard that, look it up. It's so depressing but amazing. Eisamkeit means loneliness in German and this is what I picture happening in the story.
The brothers are being torn away and forced on to opposite sides of the Berlin Wall and Prussia is forced to go with Russia. This should be a one shot unless I write another part which would still be a little independent. That one would be about how Russia is treating Prussia and how Germany is handling the situation.
See ya soon!
