I don't feel empathy or sympathy, I do feel sadism. I am a Schadenfreude, it's a German word for a pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others. The direct English translation is 'Damage-Joy' or 'Fail-Joy', it is the feeling of joy when one sees another fail. We all have it, some more than others and whilst some like to deny it, I embrace it. There's no point in hiding it. But I'm much more than that, I like to say I'm darker than that, so I would like to ask you. What makes a psychopath?

Psychopathic behavior is said that it can take many forms, not all of it violent. But some common themes underlie the condition, with pieces of a brain's emotional machinery missing. Psychopaths often lack empathy, guilt, conscience or the ability to show remorse. As exaggerated as many popular depictions of psychopaths often are, many nevertheless do pose a genuine danger to others. So what makes psychopaths the way they are? Answers remain elusive, in part because it's no easy (or safe) task to study the brain of the typical psychopath. We know how to hide ourselves and while we lack emotions we know how to fake them. We are a walking danger to everyone. We are thought to make up as much as roughly 1 percent of the general populace and up to 25 percent of the prison population.

Although not all psychopaths are violent, our kind of behavior is very destructive socially, and hurts your trust of other people. We can trick you easily since we have a superficial charm and glibness which you all so easily fall for. Of course we make it hard for you to catch us; we have a grandiose sense of our own worth. Many scientists see psychopathy as an emotionally cold disorder and they're not wrong, at least not in my case. When it comes to locating the areas in the brain where psychopathy might have its roots, scientists have a number of suspects. One brain region less active in psychopaths is the amygdala, which is normally linked with fear. In other words, we are fearless! Fear is what keeps you in line, helps you learn what society wants you to do and not do to keep you out of trouble and the idea is that psychopaths do whatever they want to do. Another brain area that scientists have probed in psychopaths is the orbital frontal cortex or regions within it, as damage there leads to poor decision making. I don't know if that's true, I guess I'll see as I age. For now I am at peace, I will continue with my plans, for I may be as successful as I have been but I am still very much a mortal, but soon I won't be. Soon I'll be invincible. Soon I will reign over this world and everyone who has ever wronged me will pay because I am Lord Voldemort.
