The Madness Within
A Metroid Fanfic by Darkurai

Samus watched as Omega Ridley began to glow a cyan color, and then disappeared in an explosion of Phazon.

The explosion was huge. The Phazon slammed into her.
She could feel it inside her.
It was changing her.
Becoming a part of her.
Corrupting her.

And she liked it.

The Phazon within her grew. Her suit warned her. She'd become more corrupted. The Phazon within her had grown 25 larger.

Samus stood up. She could feel the Phazon. So much power inside of her.
Ridley had left something behind.
Phazon Weaponry Enhancement.

She absorbed it. It went into the grapple device on her left arm.
Her suit gave her a message.

Armorsuit upgrade acquired.
Hyper Grapple online.

Something was happening.

Something dropped down from the ceiling. There was another. They were just hanging there.

Spikes shot out of them.

Looks like she'd get to play with her new toy.
She fired her grapple beam at the bottom of one of the things. She sent the Phazon from her suit through the beam and into the thing. It was overloaded by the energy and burst.
She destroyed the other one as well.

Phazon energy poured into the core of the Leviathan. It was overloading the core. The ceiling opened up and the core dropped down and looked at Samus.

Samus' body was absorbing more Phazon with each second. It was entering her body to fast as it lifted her into the air. There was only one place to send it: the core.

The core couldn't handle being hit with so much Phazon at once.

Samus descended to the ground and turned around to leave. She heard the core land on the ground behind her and explode.
She didn't care though.
All she cared about was the Phazon inside of her.

The Phazon was taking control. She had to get rid of it.
But she didn't want to. She was so powerful because of the Phazon.

And then there was Dark Samus. Without her Phazon Enhancement Device, Samus would be unable to defeat the entity once known as "The Worm". Metroid Prime was too powerful. Phazon was her only chance to defeat her.

Samus would just have to deal with the madness for now.
