DEATH RUN

A "What if the Old Stories were true?" story, "Death Run" is a loose modern take of many myths but mainly The Myth of Persephone. It is the first book in a series.

It is also copyrighted so no stealing. It will only be up while I'm writing it.

Prologue: Love and Spite and Lust and Games

Denise would be pissed if she saw me here. The key though, and the reason why my ichor is not pouring all over her front lawn is that she can't see me: being a child of Hades has an occasional few perks along with the cons. Granted, Father doesn't know I'm using his helm for this reason, though I'm not sure if it would make a difference.

Denise has legitimate reasons to hate me. I understand that, but that doesn't soften the blows she gives me, both in sparring and verbal. So maybe I am here to spite her. I'm actually pretty sure I am. It doesn't matter because this time it will work.

Denise will understand.

She will understand that Karen was never supposed to die. That Lee chose to kill her and that there's nothing I can do about it. That Lee was my sister too, albeit half.

But I do understand.

It's hard to mourn the dead, when you are of death; the beloved dead person that had life once was of death then, and when you are of death too.

I teleport in with only one thought on my mind: This time everything will work out fine.
